0:00On March 24th, all lanes on the M6 near Walsall are now fully open again after a crash shut everything down last night. It happened on March 23rd between Junction 6 for Birmingham and 7 for Walsall when a heavy goods vehicle collided with a car. That led to closures in both directions and big backups for drivers. National highways had to tackle some tricky repairs on the central barrier which got badly damaged in the crash. They ended up replacing around 300 meters of it, not just at the crash spot but in nearby areas too. Crews worked through the day to get it all fixed. Driver space long delays throughout the morning, with traffic crawling as the lanes stayed closed for the repairs. Many folks were stuck for hours, turning which should have been a quick trip into a real headache. In their latest update, National Highways West Midlands confirmed the job is done and every lane has reopened safely. Things are falling much better now in that stretch. While most of the lanes have cleared, a few might linger so drivers should still check conditions before heading out to avoid any surprises.
