1:00Climb on a right bell! Number six day! I'm changing things. Sweep then swept the Mariners, sweep the Astros in Seattle for games. They then lose three to the Padres in the first edition of the beta cup this year. I mean, it's just kind of a tale of the Mariners season to start the year hot and then extremely cold. Initial takeaways, Chad, from this Padres series. Yeah, you know, it's just about just finding the identity as a team. I hate saying that, but it's just so early. I mean, I feel like we do have an identity, like as far as like the personalities in that locker room, but in that clubhouse. I think as far as roles go, there's guys at the bottom of that lineup that are out producing a lot of guys that you thought we're going to be in that 2, 3, 4 whole wear. I'm starting to think like maybe we shake it up in a way.

2:02I don't know how drastic you're going to make it. Like, what does that look like? I don't know. I feel like Rosarina's looked really good. I'd like to see a move where, hey, you know, with Refsnider, you know, on maternity leave, what a love to see Rosarina play a little more DH. Well, love to see us maybe putting Donovan in left field and see what we can do. I don't know what you do at third base. Like, is that a cool thing? But I don't know if we're take away. I mean, I feel like this series with San Diego could have been mitigated a little bit. Some unlucky plays, but it's early in the season. Wake me up in July and ask me my true opinion on this team. Yeah, and you see, you know, the Munoz blow up last night. It's like, as he said after the game, he doesn't have a slider figured out right now. So when you go into the game without your best pitch, it's tough to be in there. And this isn't a Munoz that you'll see in the summer and the later part of the year. A lot of rust still to shake off, but yeah, let's kind of talk through it. So I guess starting off the Houston series, which was a week ago this past weekend.

3:09Seattle outscored Houston 29 to 16 across the four game series. They snapped their own five game losing streak in that series. Josh Naylor ends up hitting a home run later in the week, but I mean, talking about Houston, and just like the overall AL West standings right now, Seattle 812. They're currently fourth place in the AL West. The angels are above the Mariners currently. Athletics are in second place. The Rangers are in first place, 10 and 9. Houston Astros are have been plagued with injuries. They're top three give or take guys in the rotation. Hunter Brown is on the aisle. Tatsuya MI is now on the aisle. Christian Javier is on the aisle. Reliever Ron O'Blanco. Josh Hader is still on the aisle. I mean, things could be a lot worse. Our rotation could be where the Astros are at right now. So Mariners were able to take advantage of the Astros over that four game series. Well, we're some takeaways from that series. I mean, the nice thing is, I mean, you're talking about the Astros series, like,

4:12well, at least we're doing it versus a division opponent that we've struggled with. And to do it, I mean, against the pitching to it, and MI was somebody that, I mean, like, I thought it could be one of the better pitchers in the AL West and watching him and coming away, not impressed. What's the third of the inning? I mean, he came away not impressed with Timo Bupark's mound, apparently. It was too, it was too hard, I guess. I don't know if you saw his quote after the fact, but he said that he hasn't been able to adapt to American baseball and also American lifestyle in general. Well, I saw the baseball one. I didn't realize the lifestyle portion. Well, I'd be curious on, can you elaborate a little bit more, maybe just miss his family, you know, that's tough. It's tough being away, right? Yeah, I think it's more than the mound for him. Yeah, I mean, we need to remember, like, remind ourselves he's there. They're all humans, right? There's a lot more than just show up to the ballpark and play baseball. So it's nice though, like, just to look at that series overall, I just really like

5:18the way our rotation is starting to shape out. Like, I mean, we talked to Emerson, we talked about Emerson probably in length last episode we were on here, but I like, man, we were right. He's looking like our number two, number three type, which is really going to be nice to see going down the stretch. Like, how long can he continue to with this trend, that sweeper and how he's, how he's just really working it in the counts, throwing it at the appropriate times. I feel like he's really matured with his pitch selection. So it's just fun to see, like, seeing the actual George Bulldog come out and just looking like the number one top of the rotation got. And it's wild because you look at his sweeper and watching Cal try to catch it. Like, when Emerson doesn't throw it right down the middle, it just takes off because you look at his baseball spot profile. It's breaking 12 to 18 inches glove side, which is, you know, home plate is 17 inches wide. So if it starts in the middle, it's ending way outside. Yeah, I'd be curious to, like, get Cal's take on that,

6:23just how that pitch and what it's like and how it's developed to from the start camp to today, because I mean, like we mentioned to first off, like, I'd never noticed that in spring. So, yeah, it'll be, it'll be nice to see where we go down the stretch to with our rotation. Like, that's what's going to win in the playoffs. So this early season stuff, I feel like the offense is going to start working itself out. And I'm really on starting to win, when Rob Refsnider comes back, like, I'm starting to get on more of the Colt Emerson training. Like, how can we start getting Donovan into the left field? Yeah, let's get into maybe the necessary shake-up of the lineup a bit, because you look at the offensive lineup as the title of this live stream says, Luke Rayleigh, he is leading the team really in overall production. Before tonight's game, he had a 198 weighted runs, created plus 98% better than the average league hitter. That's in 17 games played. You know, they have the the platoon going. But before tonight's game, he had a 339 average,

7:26391 on base, a 1.035 OPS with four home runs. As we were talking off there before, we jumped on here yesterday in yesterday's game four for five with the home run. And then, let's talk through that decision tonight of subbing him out. Yeah, it's tough. I mean, got a lefty coming up. And so you just look at historically, Connor Joe has has better numbers than Luke Rayleigh overall. So I get that in a way. It's just very, I mean, I mean, I'm in a group chat, too. And it just very much got service-esque. But it really got me thinking, like, okay, so who's really making that decision? It's probably not Dan. That's somebody in the clubhouse. It's a decision that's already made before the game for when they're going to be making that change. So you got to respect it. I mean, yeah, Dan's done a lot for this team. So like, I don't feel like it's a damn problem at all. And it's probably the move that they're going to continue to make. So as fans get used to it, they can do it themselves.

8:27Yeah, going down the lineup, Brennan Donovan has been a stellar lead off hitter. He's got a 315 average after this game with the 986 OPS. Then two through four have been essentially non-existent. Cal Raleigh with the 169 batting average, Julio with the 200 batting average finally got off his home run drought. Okay, out of his first of the year of the other day, Josh Naylor with the 118 batting average as your cleanup hitter. Then you have the productivity coming in at, you know, five and six and down the lineup. Arroz Arena, 300 batting average to start the year with the 824 OPS. We mentioned Luke Rayleigh now with the 328 batting average of 1,000 OPS. I don't think you would have hurt to at least move, you know, I think you mentioned before that, you know, moving Arroz Arena into the two spot. I think dropping, dropping everyone down beyond that, maybe Donovan, Arroz Arena, he even having Julio to where there's back-to-back varieties and then Cal and then maybe Rayleigh and then Naylor, something like that.

9:28Yeah, I think for me, like I'm more looking at just keeping it simple. I don't know if I'm going to make a huge change. Probably just flipping the two lefties and though that lineup, Naylor has been struggling a little bit, just finding the middle of the barrel, I feel like. So it really is not. So I think that's going to be better suited to protect Julio, especially when facing varieties. So I think when you're going to see a writing on the mound, I think it makes sense to, I mean, as long as Luke's hitting like this, I think it makes sense to put him in the forehole. Absolutely. And then down the lineup, you know, J.B. Crawford at shortstop there. Yeah, it's still in the RC Plus, it's still like 115. So I mean, it's still performing. Yeah, he's getting on base. I mean, Cole Young, I thought he impressed me tonight too, a nice line drive to write field. I'm really on top of the top half of the ball, which is great. Not trying to do too much with things and continuing to be the number one defensive runs saved

10:33in baseball, a second base. Yeah, what is that? Right. I mean, and not on my bingo card, I didn't think, I mean, I knew defensively, obviously transitioning from shortstop to second base, you think, obviously, I think you have a leg up in a way. Shortstop requires a little bit more range. I wasn't sure how the arm would play. So that's probably why he got moved to second, and he's starting to settle in really nice. So I'm feeling really good about the second base position going forward over the next five plus years. Yeah, and I mean, we saw Rainier as a Rainier last night, the game ending double down the line by Jackson Merrill and Randy couldn't even, you don't know what's going on there. It's like, did he do that on purpose so that you don't have to see his arm actually out there because he doesn't have an arm. I mean, I feel like Rainier's going to be DH sooner than later. And I feel like that move where Cold Tempers in coming up, taking third base Donovan out to the left field, we have to figure something out with this offense

11:34to get the spark. And I feel like that spark plug isn't to come right now. Yeah, I mean, it's just interesting too is like Randy playing, playing defense or his limitations as far as defense goes. I feel like we've been talking about this for like two years now, Connor, just as far as we'd like to see him playing DH more. So and I think with Cold, like that's definitely, I mean, that has to be the play, right? You're not going to move Luke off of right field. I think Can Zone has proved enough to continue to get playing time. And then Donovan, I mean, last year he played I think over 300, 400 innings and in left field. So he has experienced in left field. And I think he played predominantly left field last year for the Cardinals. So I think the move makes a ton of sense. And then like long term too, just as far as, I mean, Donovan's not going to be playing second base. I don't think he's going to, I mean, do you think there's a chance where Donovan gets

12:36more playing time in second, Cole, isn't playing as much or you've seen a DH? I do see Cole Young as being the second baseman of the future. So they're going to give him every opportunity. And Young puts together some really good at bats. And I think he has a quality approach. Obviously his results haven't been there. Like he started a year, pretty hot, so 217 average currently. But I think Donovan in left field, I think Cole Young, he's going to be productive at second base. Like we see his defensive ability. You don't take him out of the field right there. You know what? With how the lineup is shaping out, the one thing that I'm curious about is that when Colt does come up, the lineup is extremely left handed. So I'm curious to see how they adjust that because a lot of those lefties need to be playing every day also. You can't put you in those guys. Yeah, and I always find that there's a lot of proof in the like the bread crumbs and triple A. Like it'll tell you a lot like, Bliss has played left field and last week. So I don't know if anybody knew that. So that kind of tells you how they feel maybe about the current left field defensive situation right now. And they obviously like Bliss. I think that also maybe tells you

14:48that they're trying to find more opportunities for Bliss, more reasons for teams to maybe want Bliss around the trade deadline. He's going to be our this year, Tyler Locklear. He's going to go off in the PCL. I have a feeling. So I'm hopeful for Bliss getting the opportunity he deserves. Oh man, it looks like we got a question. Yeah, time is well, he makes a comment that Colt Emerson like basically, I think this is more of a question of why would you bring up Colt when he's striking out over 30% in triple A. I think that's fair comment. I mean, it's like why why press it? And he's also they've been playing him at shortstop a little bit more recently. And Brock Rodin has been playing third base too. So another example of proof is in the breadcrumbs in triple A like where they use in the guys. So Brock Rodin is like, is that going to be a guy that has an opportunity? Just hasn't stayed healthy over the last several years. So I mean, you're not wrong. I could I mean, I definitely see an opportunity like a chance where Colt's not up till

15:51past the altar. I'll start break as well. So the past week, Colt Emerson, six for 23 with seven strikeouts, two walks on the season, 13 games, 265 average with a home run, five RBIs, two stolen bases. It's one of those things to where yeah, you can never really judge exactly when he's completely ready. You can call him up when he's read hot, but some guys they they need the opportunity to be able to learn and adapt to the big league level. And looking at the offense, he's probably not going to not going to hurt the results. Yeah. I mean, he's got to be a situation when he's playing every single day, every single day in the field. So I trust as far as like this front office, the timing and when it makes sense, they'll know when it's when it makes sense. And he's in a like I agree with the comment, if you're going to be striking out that much like in the PCL, like are you ready, right? In the the power numbers, we want we want to see it in the PCL too, especially if he's playing the higher, higher desert stadiums. So that's a bit of the offense.

16:54We'll have to see what happens and when that call is made to get Colt brought up, things definitely have to to change the momentum. I'm sure we'll shift with the offense and they'll get right hot at some point. I guess one more note, you know, Julio, it looks like he's changed his stance again that he has kind of like a Josh Nailer type batting stance at the play now, whereas bats resting on a shoulder instead of what we've seen in past years and we've seen Julio kind of make midseason or early season adjustments with this swing and his stance. I'm curious to see what other adjustments are made if that's something that Nailer was talking to him about. I mean, just like speaking league wide, we saw Jordan Walker right now, you know, he taught former top prospect, changed his batting stance a bit and it's unlocked the potential. So just a small observation that I've seen, we'll see if that's a slumpbuster for Julio. Yeah, staying relaxed. I think a lot of times it's just a mindset for these guys too. So staying relaxed is going to make it. So he's not pressing as much. He's not, yeah, I mean, there's a rhyme and reason for everything.

17:56And I'm sure Josh just being the player that he is and while respecting that clubhouse, it makes sense that Julio wants to try to emulate something. I mean, like Josh was, he was lights out. I mean, he was nails. He was lights out for us. I mean, after acquiring him at the deadline, so seeing him struggle this early part of this season is kind of bizarre to me. I think that's he's going to be one that he's going to bust out here in a hurry. Now, moving to the rotation we talked on it briefly, but some very quality outings over these past couple of series, Logan Gilbert versus Houston, when seven innings with seven strikeouts, his best start of the year. That was good to see George Kirby came out the next day against Houston seven and two thirds innings, six strikeouts, 99 pitches, Brian Wu yesterday or two days ago, I guess versus the Padres seven innings, a quality start, but ended up getting the loss in that one. And then Luis Castillo has been, you know, we talked about Emerson Hancock, but Luis Castillo

19:00has been touched up a bit. He's got a 5.40 ERA after today's outing. He was one of those guys in spring training. I thought he was going to have a big bounce back this year with the velocity being up in spring training. Obviously, the season's still young, but what are you seeing from Luis Castillo? You know, I mean, compared to last year, because when he started last year for us, he was the reason he kind of kept this floating last year. I feel like the start of the year. So it's interesting how his velocity is up in the ERA or I guess the performance really hasn't really been there. But I've liked what I've seen. I haven't really noticed anything like or as far as like tipping pitches. I feel he's good and a lot of unlucky. Getting in a lot of unlucky situations a little bit like Munoz too in a ways where I just feel like I keep watching the rock and I just don't see anything wrong right now. And I love the fact that the Miles Prior continues to stay up at 95 96. So I'm encouraged there. I'm not worried. I'm really not. Yeah. And yeah,

20:03just going down the list here, Luis Castillo before tonight's start had a 1.77 whip. Everyone else in the rotation had a 1.1 whip or below three out of the five have a sub one whip. Emerson Hancock with a 0.76 whip, which is incredible. He's second in ERA in the rotation at 2.28. Brian Wu is leading with a 2.16 Brian Wu is 0 and 2 to start the year however. And then you got Logan Gilbert currently with a 4.18 George Kirby with a 3.25. So it really it's going to be interesting to see how they bring in Bryce Miller. You know, we'll have to look for reports as he works his way back from from the injury list. If they're going to try to work them into the rotation at some point, if they're going to keep them into coma and just slow play it for the second half of the year, if they move them to the, I mean, they're not going to move into the bullpen at this point, but I mean, you and I have talked like down the road when Kate Anderson is ready to go in the second half. What if you have a Bryce Miller out of the bullpen, maybe even Emerson Hancock,

21:08depending on how Kate is looking? Yeah, I think it offers you a lot of options for the second half of the year. I like the thought of really just slow playing this, making sure he's 100% healthy. I mean, the fact that we're on year two of running into issues with his arms. So it's concerning. And so the nice thing is like we we have the depth right now where we're okay. If we have another injury though, Connor, I mean, I mean, that's that's when we start having problems. That's when we start looking at, okay, Cooper Criswell, you've been helping us a ton in that seventh eighth inning. Now, now we need to ask you to open for us and going right for. And then okay, now that affects back into your bullpen. So and it hasn't really come together like we thought it would. But still super early in the year, only a couple of series in. I think guys will start settling in as we go. So I think being a managed fan for so long, it's just like, I feel like I'm just used

22:10this this first month of just tough play, tough baseball to watch. Well, it's like no matter what the roster looks like, you can't like stuff will hit the fan and you just can't be surprised. You just have to be as even kilo as possible because it's like, oh yeah, they okay. The the potters just just came back and against Munoz and lost that game. Okay. Yeah, that's I mean, that's something that's going to happen this year. It could be worse. We could be Houston just running into injury after injury after injury. There are much bigger problems. Knock on wood. I mean, it's just been it's been nice to see. Just really it's just it's just our hitting needs to wake up and be a little more consistent. Part of that lineup. Not it's just I mean, I feel like I'm just preaching the choir, right? We're all watching it. But and it's nice too. Like I'll make my last comment on like for the middle of our lineup, seeing Cal, I feel like the last few last few games, he's been using more of his eye in the strike sound and using the using the ABS ABS to his advantage, right? So he knows that he can challenge, right? So if he knows it's like, you know,

23:16don't don't feel like you have to swing a garbage. So I've seen a different approach to last few games and it's it's been great. So I think we'll start seeing this corner turn for him. Moving to the the re the relievers, the bull pin. I mean, we saw the Munoz blow up last night. Munoz to start the year has a 9.45 ERA over seven games, six and two thirds, ending pitch. He's got 10 strikeouts, which leads the bull pin. I mean, that's not going to be Munoz at, you know, the midway point or at the end of the year as he's described. He doesn't currently have that grip for a slider and it's hard to go out and pitch when you don't have your best pitch. So hopefully he gets he gets that dialed in. He's had slow starts in prior years with he started with an injury in a prior year. But the rest of the the the bull pin has been pretty much lights out. Matt Brash is zero ERA seven games six endings pitch. Again, all scoreless appearances. Casey Lugamina and 1.808 ERA over six games pitch. Edward Brizardo,

24:18starting the year strong, 1.17 ERA over eight games. Cooper Chriswell, a guy acquired this off season 2.25 ERA over five games, gave Spire 2.57, Jose Ferrer 2.57. Even though, you know, guys, the teams have hit off Jose Ferrer a bit like everything is such low quality of contact that I'm just not worried. I mean, it's you look at his baseball sublime profile and his hard hit rate. I think it's in the 97 97 percent title. It's just bad luck. That's just all it is. It's baseball. He'll grip halfway through the season. We're at the 500 mark. Yeah, I should spend the rest of the mean will be fine. I like what I've what I've seen from this bullpen. It's exactly what I thought it would be for the most part. As long as our rotation does run into more injuries and we start seeing guys move around, I'm I'm just not certain on like what we have that I feel confident coming in right away or at least feeling the the roles that

25:20we currently starting to settle in. I feel like as far as like identity goes across our team, obviously rotation is super close, but I feel like our bullpen is the closest. It's tough seeing that Munoz a blow and saves, but it's going to happen in baseball. And yeah, I mean, it's not like you replace Munoz with another guy to take those opportunities. He's an all-star closer. You just keep putting him out there. You have to keep in sealing your confidence in him or reunite eventually. He's going to find that grip on the slider. He's going to turn into the all-star that he is. Yeah, you just have to you just have to bear down and get through it. You can just feel the pain just that he went through on that last blown blown. And being pulled from the game as a closer. Yeah, I mean, I I don't remember the last time that happened. And it's also against the organization that you came through through the prospect ranks with. Do they try to do the opposite at some point? That probably wouldn't go as well. So many call Kevin Martinez right now. That is, that is a marketing genius idea. Me out the, you just can't cross them over. You can't do both at the same time. That'd be a bad experience. Yeah, think about the liabilities that could take place. Maybe only the opposite sides. Maybe you can separate it away, but yeah, not much of a cat guy though. So I think that's probably as bad as far as we get. I was a dog guy until I met my wife. Now I have two cats. So he's easy to maintain. I just feel like when I look at the cat, like it was like three times the size it would, it would be me. You're not wrong. Um, going into the injury report a little bit,

28:30started off with Bryce Miller. He had a bleak. He's on the 15 day IL, which started on March 22nd. He, uh, it sounds like a bullpen went well. So hopefully everything progressed as well. And he's able to get some live hitters and then progress into minor league appearances and then we'll up to see how the Mariners play him the rest of the year with his injury history. Victor Robes with a pictorial strain. Man, when he made that dive in the outfield, I was like, that's, like I understand that he is a five tool player and then he was a five tool prospect in like a lead defender. You have to like preserve yourself though. You can't throw yourself at the wall every time or make these incredible catches because it's like he just tore a shoulder last year doing something crazy. And now he's completely laying out to where, I mean his, his shoulder is going to pop out for sure, but it was a peck this time. What are your thoughts on that? Was the praying mantis on his hat when he did it too? Yeah, right. I love Victor Robes. I mean,

29:31I, I was shocked last year when he ran into that issue. I mean, in the minor league, triple picture that was hitting him multiple times. I think you hit him like three times over a course of two weeks or something like. Can he throw the bat? Yeah, he chucked the bat at I think at the amount. That was not expected. But yeah, I think he's a spark plug for this team. I'd like to see and turn thing and get healthy, right? And seeing him play a little bit more. I think he's his energy. He brings the ballpark is always fun. Always been a Victor Robes fan. And I feel like he's always been one, he's been one, two that's bailed us out when we needed it. So I'd love to see him just to start to contribute when he gets healthy. And on the base path, he's a, he's an asset there. Carlos Vargas is another guy. We haven't, we haven't seen much of him out of the bullpen. He was a big name last year. He's got incredible stuff when he's healthy. He's got a lat strain right now. Definitely want to slow play the lat strain. He's on the 60 day aisle as of March 24th. So

30:36late May is at the earliest is when we might see him as we know Logan Evans is out for the year. Tommy John and then Miles Masterbony is still out from the calf strain. So we'll see when those guys are able to come up, but as you mentioned, Refsnider, he's on the paternity list right now. So they called up Connor Joe as part of that. Rob is about to have dad strength. Can't wait. Do you think he'll unlock the 30 home run plus power? Only hitting against lefties, getting 30 home runs, that would be impressive. Now, heading into a bit of a preview of the upcoming week, we got, we just finished the three game series against the Padres, the first edition of the Vader Cup. I, I hate the Vader Cup, to be honest, or the better. Yeah, better. I mean, it's like he lived in Seattle and San Diego, but he's a diehard cubs fan. But we want the guitar. The guitar is pretty sick. And we're in music because it's not the music city. I like him just didn't wriggle field. You know, that's true. I think he's actually a bigger cubs fan. No, he's a diehard cubs fan. That's the last thing. Yeah, that's one thing. I don't feel like the, the marketing team totally nailed. 32:42I think it's out of the AOS. Yeah, outside of the AOS, we, we, we share a spring training facilities. So it works out great, but that makes sense. Yeah, I think they could have done it. I've been a little bit more creative on it. But at the same time, we just did exactly opposite what we did last year. I think when we face San Diego, we swept him. I mean, I even swept them both series. I like that because we had to use like a two game and then two game series, I think it went, but we did sweep them. I feel like that first series. So they just came out and swept us the start. So we'll see how it see how it plays. But I don't know if the guitar is staying in Seattle this time. Yeah, we got to have a big series, the second second series against them later this year. But now we're heading back to Seattle. We've got a three game series against the Rangers. They're currently 10 and nine. They're tied for first place with the athletics. Corey Seeger has been hot. He's the team leader in, in home runs and RBIs. Jake Berger just had a multi home run game versus the Dodgers. This is a big series. I mean,

33:47the Rangers are going to be one of the teams contending for that, the top spot in the AOL West. So we'll see if they can, they can bring it. And let me take a look at the pitching matchups. But any thoughts on the Rangers? No, yeah. I mean, we know they're a really strong offensive team. We, I mean, I look, love looking at that lineup up and down on paper, really strong. They've just the last year. They just haven't been able to stay healthy. So you're seeing them healthy currently right now up and down the board. I don't think anybody's out for them. So I mean, that's the big probably difference for them and probably will be going forward. Yeah, I think it'll be a great series though. Is Seeger going to dominate us? I feel like he always puts together some serious games. So I'd love to, I'd love to see us limit him in a way. But that's probably asking too much. That's the guy who Kirby threw a knuckleball to a few years ago. So I'm hoping we can see that again. But it's going to be an incredible pitching matchup

34:47the entire weekend starting tomorrow, Friday. It's Jacob DeGrom on the mound versus Logan Gilbert. DeGrom currently has a 2.870 IRA. He's still elite Saturday. It's going to be Nathan Yovaldi versus George Kirby. Yovaldi currently has a five four ERA. And then Sunday, it's going to be the new Ranger Mackenzie Gore on the mound with a three ERA versus Brian Wu. So it's going to be a pitching duel all weekend long. Gosh, it's going to be a fun series. Fun weekend series, man. And that Mackenzie Gore, Brian Wu, I think that's going to be the best pitching match of the bunch. That's pretty easy to say just because you're talking Brian Wu probably top three pitcher and at least the AL. But I, you know, I, I just look at how this, this whole division is going to shape up to and we talked about what our thoughts were. And funny how Oakland and Texas, those are the two teams we thought would compete with the Mariners. They're out in front to start. Both very

35:49healthy. Look really good. Starting pitching for the A's have struggled like we thought. So they'll be interesting to see how they hold up the second half. I think that's when we'll start seeing them putter out a bit. But this Texas team like this is, I look at this this series as a playoff series in my opinion. So hopefully the boys ready. Absolutely. Then looking at the wild card pitcher, I want to stay on top of this as you go throughout throughout the season. But the AL leaders currently, we got the Tampa Bay arrays are leading the east at 11 and seven. The Minnesota twins are leading the central 11 and eight, the Rangers currently leading the west 10 and 9. The AL wild card currently is is obviously very close. But you got the guardians in the top spot of the wild card in the central. You got the athletics and wild card spot currently at 10 and 9, the Detroit Tigers. You then have the New York Yankees that are tied with the Tigers. And then down the list, you have the Angels, Orioles. And then the Mariners are currently two and a half games

36:49back of a wild card spot. So I mean, we'll just kind of monitor this as we go through the season. But not really the teams that you would expect to be in first place in the division and the raise in the twins. Again, it's the it's early in the season. But we'll have to see how things shake out. It's funny. You mentioned Detroit and then just extending Magonigal. What was it? Years 150. So taking a page out of Jerry DePoto's book. And when we extended Colt about a couple weeks ago, I thought that was pretty interesting today. And that was kind of one we had thought like that would probably the next shoot a drop for that. Yeah. And it's one of those timing things to where yeah, if Colt debuts and then you sign him later on in the year, you might have just saved $55 million potentially on that contract because Magonigal came up and he was hot to start his MLB career and his price tag kept going up every day. The tigers were finally able to lock him down. I mean, we saw what happened with Connor Griff and he signed the record deal with Pittsburgh. But

37:55yeah, Marinor's got a good deal out of Colt Emerson for sure. Yeah, it'll be interesting to see like watching all the players that sign that extension this off season and just who has the better career out of all of them because Magonigal and Connor Griffin are probably that tier one. And Colt Emerson is more considered in that like just that high tier two I'd say. But you look at I think across I think fifth three players, I feel like his floor has the potential of being a little bit stronger. Maybe it's because he's going to it's going to be tough though. Magonigal can play multiple positions too. Conor Griffey weather hold is another is another name to watch. He hasn't been extended yet yet. I don't think but he's another like there's some really top tier talent that's coming up. It's a fun rookie class this year. It really is. And if you're like a sport car collector, I mean, I feel like this is a good year for a rookie class. A few other notes just around the league. 38:55Schultz April 14th. He's a 610 lefty. He's number 46 in the pipeline. He didn't have the best start for his debut. But that's a name to look for. Also George Springer of the Blue Jays. He's out with the toe fracture. The brewers have been hurt by injuries. Jackson Turio, Vaughan, Yelich is now in the aisle. Go figure. And then I'll say, I mean, Yelich is just like every year or something's happening. It's his back. It's his. And then back. I was going to, yeah. And Mariners Miners now. Let's wrap it up with Mariners Miners. You got Kate Anderson and Ryan Sloan had incredible performances. Kate Anderson went five endings, 11 strikeouts, two walks, his second start of the year.

42:06Again, he was the the 2025 third overall pick. He's sitting 92 to 95 touching 97. It's got a great four-pitch mix. Very deceptive with his arm slot. He's going to be one of those fast track candidates. And September call up might be in his report card for this year. What are your thoughts on any additional notes on Kate Anderson? I mean, the video that I saw, which was pretty limited, probably what a lot of people, a lot of fans saw too, but he was spot in every single pitch. I know I've said this before, but I see him in not being tray, yes, average, but I see him when he comes in, it's going to be that same exact timing that the Blue Jays got him late last year. There's a September call up and going into the playoffs. I think he's going to be that spark plug for us that we need from a rotation standpoint. A guy that is going to come in earlier. I think in playoffs, prove himself, and then start seeing and getting us start here and there. He's that good. He's that good. And he's already doing it in his first two starts.

43:12So yeah, I'm excited to see more of Kate Anderson getting a lefty in this rotation. Ryan Sloan, 20 years old at the W.R. Kinsada start the year. He's had two starts now at AA. Anderson and Sloan on the same team. If you're an opposing team having to play in Arkansas, you're facing Kate Anderson one day. Ryan Sloan the next. I mean, that's a combo that you won't even want to have. You don't want to see that when they come into Seattle, but in AA, that's just unfair. And it makes you really appreciate how good the minor league system is because you can understand there's Kate Anderson and Ryan Sloan in AA. Imagine throughout the press the league. You think, is it really like how big is the difference between the major leagues to AA single? There are some of these guys that are top talent that are down there. Yeah, I mean, I think I think there's actually a huge difference between AA and the majors, but I'd say at the same time, though, I think what you're going to get from that,

44:17like this, is like playing every single day. And they're going to be able to monitor the yen. He's like just looking at Sloan. He only went for it and he's pitched his second start, 48 pitches. So clearly, they're going to monitor. I don't see him going probably more than 115 this year. He's probably never gone over 100 and he's pitched in his career in his young very young career, right? So more, I mean, I think the biggest thing for Ryan Sloan is continue to develop and stay healthy because he's got all the ability. He's got all the ability. And I fully believe that he'll be in that rotation in our rotation next year. Yeah, in 2025, Ryan Sloan and total pitched 82 endings. So if you can work him up to 110, 120 endings in that range, that extend him a bit, then you can really start to get him ready for whenever he's called up the following year. Cole Temerson, as I described earlier,

45:196 for 23 this week, seven strikeouts, two walks. And I saw another comment of we're calling him a spark plug when he's, you know, striking out at 30%. But I mean, I just think he's one of those guys that will come up and produce, I mean, at the end of the day, AAA numbers only mean so much. And I feel like he's the mature type of kid that can come up at 20 in debut and do well. Connor Griffin is struggling right now with the pirates. He's 19 years old. He's made his debut. There's a learning curve with everything, but we'll see when that happens. Yeah. And I think, and I always find it interesting, people think like calling somebody up early can stunt their growth. I don't think there's any problem with somebody coming up and failing for a little bit. I think Colt has, I think he has the mental intelligence to be able to see right through that. And if he does struggle, yeah, he's going to go down to AAA, he's going to adjust and he'll come back and be fine. That's the way I kind of see it. I kind of want to push

46:23him and see how he, I want to see him fail. And so that's why I would be more of like, yeah, he'll be a spark plug. Maybe not the first time I call him up, but I want to get him experience. He's on the 40 man roster. So it's an option year, no matter you use him or you don't. So what's the hurt when Rob Reff Snyder goes on the paternity leave to bring him up for three games and see what happens. Maybe he keeps going on the roster. That all sounds like good problems to me. He has the makeup to where you can push him and he can fail and he'll adapt and he'll be okay. He's not Jared Kellnick to where, you know, he was trying to get to the big leagues and he, and then it's just a complete mess. The entire time you see a little bit of failure and he just cannot handle it whatsoever. He's now in the minor league system for the White Sox. It's night and day difference and just they'll roll makeup of those two. Yeah, batting under his body weight. I think Rob might have like 0.089 or something. He only had two or two years ago.

47:27Yeah, I looked, even in the minor leagues, he was like one for 26 or something. Like, yeah, the last time I looked, it's pretty wild. Also on the list, the Mariners minors Mason Peters, right hand in picture, he's 21 years old at low A inland empire. This this year, if you had an already heard, the Mariners changed their low A team from the Modesto nuts to the inland empire, which is down in San Bernardino, Southern California. He was a standout for Endings Pitch, nine strikeouts, one walk. He was at 2025 fourth round pick. The notes here say, high spin breaking balls, which are devastating against hitters, dynamic on the mound, and he's a name to watch out of the rotation at some point too. Yeah, I saw some film on him. His last start, I mean, that guy was a pretty sick start. I know our buddy Gavin Hyatt for up west, like he's really big on Mason Peters. So I don't even know who he was up until like two weeks ago. So it was nice here and that from him ahead of time. So yeah, shout out to Gav, kind of

48:29being on top of that. But yeah, Mason, it's just it's nice seeing like these names pop up. Yeah, and it's like this front office wants to continue to have waves. And when you look at, you know, that single A makeup of that that roster, like there's not a lot of names that really stand out for us yet too. So we will be seeing some guys that get called up during the year. We'll have, you know, there'll be more guys that are be brought into the fold. So it'll be interesting to see how that single A team kind of just shapes out. But yeah, Mason Peters, the early on, just like really strong look as far as the prospect goes. And right now, Mason Peters is ranked number 15 prospect in the Mariners system. And actually, he's a left handed starting pitcher. And then number five on the list in the Maynard Mariners minors is Brock Moore. Did he win the leagues player of the week or one of one of the players of the week? He was four innings pitch, just one hit 11 strikeouts over four innings. He apparently is up to triple digit velocity with

49:35great command. And as you saw, 11 strikeouts, no walks over four innings, which is a fantastic strikeout rate. Yeah, I was about to say he recognized the name too. Just I'm not as strong on the prospects this year. I think it's just dad mode right now. But Brock Moore, I remember him, he was a yeah, we drafted him out of Oregon, really tall starting pitcher. He's a guy that stood out for me from that draft. So it's nice seeing that name pop up. And yeah, and I want to say the mouse prior was not something he had at Oregon. So it's nice hearing that the triple digits is pretty insane though. And just being on the Mariners prospects list right now, I see the name Grant nip. He's the number 22 prospect. He's a he was a closer for what was the do you know the the college who's an in broska Campbell Campbell Campbell. Okay, he was a closer for Campbell and then also a catcher and he was leading the nation in home runs before getting hurt. He heard his hamstring and he's coming back from Tommy John right now. I saw on his story that

50:37he was throwing off of a mound in a bullpen. So Grant nip is another honorable mention for this list for for this week. I'm really impressed with the video I've seen so far. We got a really good one catchers as well in the major leagues, but Luke Stevens and I mean, obviously we're not going to see him this year. Maybe we could see if he's a high A average, we'll probably see him in double A to finish the year. But I mean, I'm going to catch her next year. Maybe at the end of the year, if we need a backup catcher

51:39towards the end of the year, we'll just keep signing Mitch Carver. It's fine. He's a glue guy. He's a glue guy. But you mentioned Luke Stevens and he's got a 400 average of 518 on base. A 650 slug through 27 played appearances drafted 35th overall in 2025. Yeah, he's definitely a name to watch for. Yeah, I think he's a no doubter for being a major league baseball player here in about two years.
