Love or a Lie? Ep 3238

0:00Welcome back to Challenges of Favoritio program. I'm Gary McCann. Thank you for joining like the knowledge God and you are listeners. He owned episode 3,238. The question is, love or a lie? Which one is it? Well, he met her at a party and she was so outstanding that many guys chased after while he was average looking and shy and awkward, maybe that's you. But at the end of the party, he finally, you know, got enough courage to invite the girl to have coffee when she was surprised but out of politeness, she went ahead and accepted. Remember now, politeness. So she accepted his invitation going to the date. They both sat there in a nice coffee shop but he was too nervous to say anything and she felt uncomfortable waiting for that coffee. And with him being so shy and awkward around her, it seemed like the

1:03conversation between them wouldn't even start. Well, the coffee was broad and suddenly he asked the waiter would you please give me some salt. I like to put it in my coffee and everybody at the cafe stared at him with a strange look. You know they hadn't been open. His face turned red but still he put the salt in his coffee and drank it. So she asked him out of curiosity why this unusual habit? He took a couple of sips and replied and when he was a little boy, he lived near the sea and he liked playing in the sea. And he could feel the taste of the sea just like you got the taste of the salty coffee. Now every time he had the salty coffee, he always think of his childhood as hometown and he starts to miss it and miss his parents are still living there. And while he was telling her that story, tears began to feel his eyes. Wait a minute, not her eyes but his eyes.

2:10She was deeply touched because that's just true feeling from the bottom of his heart. And a man who can tell out of his being home sick must be somebody who loves home and cares about home and realizes responsibility for his family. So what she did, she began talking about her childhood and her hometown and her family got her to loosen up. And it was a really nice talk because it also was a beautiful beginning of there. You got it, love story. And they continued to date and so she found that actually he was a man who met all her demands. You know, he was tolerant, kindhearted, warm and careful. And he was a good man and had not been for the salt and this coffee. She'd never really known him. Well, the rest of the story, like any other beautiful love story, they finally got married. You know, they did. And they lived a very happy

3:16married life, you know, just like yours. And sure, every time she made coffee for him, she put some salt in the coffee just the way he liked it. Well, after 40 years of marital bliss, he died after short illness. He said, Gary, is that the rest of the story? You know, it's not. Remember, this is relational week. One day she found a letter here left for her with said, my dearest, please forgive me, forgive my whole life's lie. This was the only lie I said to you, the salty coffee. Remember the first time we dated, I was so nervous at that time, actually I wanted some sugar. But I said salt. It was hard for me to change, so I just went along with it. I never thought that that could be the start of my communication. I tried to take the truth many times in my life. But I was too afraid to do that. As I had promised,

4:17not to lie to you for anything. Now I'm dying. So I take the truth. I don't like salty coffee. What a strange, bad taste. But I've had the salty coffee for my whole life. And since I knew you, I never felt sorry for anything. And I do feel it. And having you with me is the most immense happiness for my whole life. And if I can live for the second time, I still want to know you and have you for my entire life, even though I have to drink the salty coffee again. Please forgive me for lying to you first in that coffee shop. And then I tell you the truth every time you made that salty coffee for me. I'm not lying now when I say I could not have that coffee in the other way. Still madly in love with you. Tears begin to fall down her cheek as she finished reading the letter. And if anybody asked her how did that salty coffee taste, it's sweet.

5:22She always replied. All right, close in scripture for the day, our citizenship is in heaven, and we really wait for a Savior from there. To the Lord Jesus Christ, He was transformed the body of our humble condition and to the lightness of His glorious body by the power that enables him to subject everything to Himself.
