The Longhorns snuck into the field of 68 despite a rocky end to their regular season. They got the nod over teams like Auburn, Oklahoma, San Diego State, and Indiana. Longhorn Nation had been on edge, but now excitement is building. This marks the program's 39th tournament appearance, though their overall record stands at just 40 wins and 42 losses. They've reached three final fours in history, way back in 2003, 1947, and 1943. In recent years, Texas has made the tournament seven times in the last 10, but results have been tough. They've had mostly first or second round exits since 2016, except for an elite 8 run in 2023 under Coach Ronnie Terry.
