London Protests: Strict Rules for Iran Strike Rallies

The Metropolitan Police has banned fireworks after seeing them at earlier rallies and they're setting conditions to cut down on noise and disruption. For locals, two main events are planned in Central London on March 21. The first is a stop-the-war march, starting from Russell Square near the British Museum, heading to Richmond Terrace in Whitehall for speeches. It has to wrap up by 6pm, with no amplified music or speeches after 5.30pm. Meanwhile, a stage for freedom rally against the Iranian government kicks off at 2pm from Hyde Park Corner, marching to the Iranian Embassy, that one must end by 5pm sharp. Police are also forbidding any amplified sound gear, musical instruments, or anything else that makes noise like banging items. These steps come from complaints by nearby residents about past disturbances. Superintendent Neil Holyoke says officers will keep things safe and peaceful, but they'll arrest anyone breaking the rules.
