London Marathon: Post-Race Logistics

0:00On April 25th, tomorrow's the big day for the London Marathon on April 26th, with 50,000 runners hitting the streets from Greenwich. Park all the way to the finish line on the Mall near Buckingham Palace. The route sticks close to the classic path from 1981, passing spots like Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf, and the Elizabeth Tower. Starts are staggered between 9.30 am and 11.30 am to keep things from getting too jammed up front. Respect massive crowds with around 800,000 spectators cheering along the way. Runners are pounding the pavement for all kinds of causes, turning the city into a sea of energy and support. But once you cross that line, getting out of there with your crew could be tricky. Westminster Station in St. James's Park Station will be slammed, and Westminster goes exit only from 7 am to 7 pm. You can get in but not. Out. Get to nearby spots like Charing Cross, Piccadilly Circus, Victoria, or Waterloo instead.

1:00Trains on the Jubilee, Circle, District lines, and the DLR will pack out quick since they hud the route, even with extra services running. Buses along the path get diverted or skipped, all together. Plan smart. Check updates on the TFL app before you bounce, and weave through that post-raised buzz without the hassle.
