Lockheed Martin Invests $150M in Alabama, Creating Jobs

The company plans to invest more than $150 million over the next five years. This move will create new full-time jobs at the facility. The plant sits on about 3,800 acres in northern Pike County and already employs over 800 people. These key parts for missile systems like the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense or FAD along with Javelin, Hellfire, JASM and Long Range, Anti-Ship Missiles. Alabama leaders are excited about the news, calling Lockheed Martin a key player in the state's aerospace sector. Officials highlight the skilled local workforce and how these homegrown products shine worldwide. The expansion underscores the site's role as an economic driver in Southeast Alabama. As opening back in 1994, the Pike County operations have expanded a lot.
