Local Star Jerone Morton Visits Kentucky

Jerome Morton, a six-foot-five guard from Washington State, heads to Lexington with one year left to play. This Winchester native won a state title with George Rogers Clark in 2022 as tournament in BP, and now schools like DePaul, George Mason, and Texas A&M are in the mix too. Morton kicked off college at Morehead State, where he struggled as a freshman, but blew up as a sophomore. That year he dropped 10.4 points, 3.4 assists, 3.2 boards, and 1.3 steals per game, shooting sharp, from everywhere. He then bounced to Washington State, starting 29 of 32 games as a junior, averaging 7.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in nearly 25 minutes. His dad Derek couldn't hide the excitement.
