Local QB Allar Meets Browns at Combine

0:00On March 1st, Drew Aller, the Penn State quarterback from Medina, Ohio, just outside Cleveland, caught up with the Browns at this week's NFL scouting. Combined in Indianapolis, the local kid grew up cheering for the team, with his family holding season tickets passed down from his great-grandfather. He called the chats surreal, since he attended most of their home games as a fan. Aller did not start playing football until high school, but quickly rose to varsity as a sophomore and became a top recruit. He already knows the Browns quarterback coach, Mike Bajakian, from earlier recruiting talks when Bajakian was at Northwestern. State reached the playoff semi-finals against Notre Dame his junior year. An early season injury sidelined him as a senior, but he's been rehabbing hard and used the combine to prove he's ready for the pros. Meanwhile, the Browns face uncertainty at quarterback with Shadour Sanders, Dylan Gabriel, and Deshan Watson on the roster. Projections have Alar going in the third through seventh rounds, making him a realistic target for Cleveland. As the draft nears, this local connection could spark real excitement if the Browns bring him home to chase that next big chapter.
