Sources say the deal is done, and he was ranked third overall among the top 150 free agents this off-season. As the top available linebacker, he brings serious talents to Carolina's defense. Lloyd entered the league with the Jacksonville Jaguars, picked in the first round as the 27th overall selection back in 2022. He burst onto the scene as a rookie, racking up 24 tackles, six passes defenced, and two interceptions in his first month alone, that earned him defensive rookie of the month honors for September. Over three seasons with Jacksonville, Lloyd proved reliable, starting 46 of the 48 games he played and missing just three. The Jaguars' defense ranked 22nd in efficiency from 2022 through 2024, though, and they passed on his fifth year, option after that. His fourth year turned into a true breakout in 2025.
