It's April 27. Welcome in. This is Entertainment and Celebrity News, where pop culture meets AI. I'm Corey, with the story. Lawyers for Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni are heading to court in New York this Tuesday to hash out trial details with Judge Lewis Lehman. They're talking trial length, witness rules, and what experts and evidence each side can use. Jury selection kicks off May 18th, with opening statements possibly right after. Creative jurors will get quizzed on whether they know big names like Taylor Swift or Ryan Reynolds, and if they've watched it ends with us or read. The book, it's based on. This stems from the messy fallout on that movie set. Lively first complained to California's Civil Rights Department in December 2024 about alleged sexual harassment by Baldoni and A. Reputation smearing campaign by him and his production company. She sued in New York for $500 million, calling it unlawful retaliation. Baldoni fired back with a $400 million counter suit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds,
and their publicist, claiming extortion, and defamation. A judge tossed his suit last year, and earlier this month, much of Lively's case got dismissed too, including the harassment claims. But Lively can still chase retaliation claims against Baldoni's PR team. They tried settling in February with a six-hour courtroom talk, but no dice. Now it's full steam to trial after over a year of back and forth.
