Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. James 1.22 Dear Jesus, being obedient isn't always easy. When we're tempted to put too much pressure on ourselves, give up or think we're self-sufficient. Remind us that our strength and hope comes from you alone. Teach us to listen to your Word, slow down and hear, and then respond in the ways that you lead, guide and direct us. We love, praise, and thank you, Lord, for the precious gift of your Word. May it be alive and active in each of us. When Jesus's name we pray, amen.
