Lions Sign LB Clark, Boosting Linebacker Depth

He's a fifth year pro with strong ties to their defensive coordinator, Kelvin Sheppard from their time together at LSU. Terms of the deal weren't shared, but Clark brings high upside after stints with the Cowboys and Texans. Earlier this week at his intro presser, Clark talked up his LSU roots. He helped win a national championship in 2019-20 and wore the number 18 jersey given to top leaders on the team. A spinal injury before the draft hurt his stock, dropping him to the Cowboys in the fifth round, pick 176. Clark beat the odds with fusion surgery and returned strong. He started all 17 games one year for Dallas with 109 tackles. Later, roles shrank on defense, but he excelled on special teams, earning high grades from analysts during his time in Houston. Meanwhile, Sheppard mince wore Clark back at LSU and coached him at the senior bowl.

This bolster's lion's depth at linebacker, where they run three linebacker sets more than anyone.
