Lindor's Spring Debut: Mets Shortstop Returns to Form

The All-Star shortstop played four innings as shortstop and took three played appearances against the Blue Jays at Clover Park. He went one for three with a single and a range-shortened game that the Metz won eight to one after five innings. Lindor had spent the past month recovering from surgery on his left Hamat bone. He recently advanced to facing live pitching during rehab. Manager Carlos Mendoza praised his steady progress both in the field and at the plate leading up to this debut. Lindor reported feeling like his normal self and ended the day healthy. He showed no major drop in power, crushing a ball in his final at bat that traveled home-run distance before landing foul. He also dove for a grounder up the middle, shaking off a brief moment of caution. The training staff assured him minor pain that fades quickly is a good sign. That led him play at full speed without hesitation.
