Lindor Returns: Mets Star Set for Spring Debut

New York Met's shortstop Francisco Lindor is set to play his first spring training game this Sunday since hand surgery. He'll lead off and man shortstop against the Toronto Blue Jays. This comes just days after he took live batting practice and fielded ground balls. Lindor had surgery on February 11th to fix a stress reaction in the hemat bone of his left hand. Doctors expected a six week recovery, putting him on track for opening day, which is now less than two weeks away on March 26th against the Pittsburgh Pirates at home. The Met's have eight games left in their gray fruit league schedule. Lindor first fell soreness in his hand last season, but pushed through it. The team had him see a specialist right before pitchers and catchers reported to Florida. Compared to others with similar injuries this spring, Lindor's return looks promising.
