Lightning Acquire Veteran Forward Corey Perry

They sent a second round pick in the 2028 NHL draft to get the 40-year-old who played for Tampa from 2021 to 2023. Perry has 28 points, including 11 goals and 17 assists, and 50 games this season with the Kings. He signed a one-year deal worth $2 million with them on July 1st and can hit free agency after this year. Throughout his career, Perry has reached the Stanley Cup final five times in the last six seasons, though he has not won since lifting the cup with. Anaheim in 2007, he racked up those playoff runs mostly with Edmonton last year, plus stints with several other teams. This move adds playoff experience to the lightning, who were tied for first in the Atlantic Division with 38 wins, 18 losses, and 4.
