Inattellate today, March 12, liberal leader Ashton Herne has confirmed that Karsten Woodhouse is no longer the party's candidate for the seat of right, currently held by education. Minister Blair Boyer, the decision follows backlash over Woodhouse's comments on a podcast last July where he called homosexuality and feminism demonic, and he also labeled Islam poisonous and wrong while criticizing penalties for Nazi salutes. Herne made the announcement at a press conference, stressing that she does not support those views and had spoken directly with Woodhouse about. Stepping aside, Labour's Blair Boyer had urged Herne to act against what he called extreme homophobia and Islamophobia from her candidate. Woodhouse remains employed by the party with his contract intact, though Herne did not say if he resigned or was disindorced and the situation could, develop further.
