Leafs Trade McMann to Kraken, Stockpile Draft Picks

The Toronto Maple Leafs kicked off trade deadline, day by sending forward Bobby McMahon to the Seattle Kraken. In return, they picked up a 2027 second round draft pick and a 2026 fourth rounder. It's their first move to stock up on future assets. McMahon set out the past two games as a healthy scratch while talks progressed. The team couldn't find a way to extend him right now, but they left the door open for a possible reunion this summer. This fits their plans to move some upcoming free agents. Players and fans in Toronto really liked McMahon in the locker room. Losing him stings a bit, but it clears cap space and boosts their draft haul. That second round pick could get flipped for a bigger piece down the line. Over in Seattle, McMahon steps in as a reliable middle six score. He's posted 19 goals in 32 points in 60 games this year, averaging about 15 minutes and 19 seconds of ice time.
