Bien avant l'affaire d'Amityville, les Warren ont réussi un coup médiatique en réussissant à se faire connaitre en dehors de l'état du Connecticut.

Pourtant, cette affaire reste encore aujourd'hui un cas irrésolue.

Pour certains, il s'agit d'un cas de Poltergeist, pour d'autre une preuve de télékinésie... et pour la police un simple canular.
