The draft is one week from tonight, so I thought what better way to cover all three. Then with the voice of all three, that would be Dan Horde. All right, I know I can only imagine you were in full deep dive mode with all these mocks and reports. Dan Horde, is there a name that you have fallen for at number 10 for the Bengals?

3:02I'm a Downs guy, Lance, like a lot of Bengals fans. I have been keeping my fingers crossed doing one simulated draft after another. And occasionally he's still there. It seems like a lot of the experts seem to think there's a reasonable chance he'll be there. So I've got my fingers crossed that that's going to be the case. I know the Bengals have signed a couple of free agent safeties and I think they're good. But if you can get him, I think they could really transform their defense. Dan, I get the sense from at least some fans that when if styles and downs and bain are gone, that they would consider corner like a consolation prize and be bombed heck the way I look at. I mean, you can, it's not rocket science. You can never have enough corners in this league. And there's an opportunity for a couple of pretty darn good ones potentially, I would think. And you know, that may be the way it goes. If kind of the four guys that people have been fixated on all along are all gone, Bayley, Bane, styles and downs. If all four of those guys go in the top nine,

4:04then cornerback really becomes a strong possibility. Yeah, you're okay on the outside right now with DJ Turner and Dax Hill. But they're both going into the final year of their contract. I think in all likelihood they'll resign one and probably not resign both. Although I said the same thing about Jamar and Tee and that's not the way that that worked out. But I don't see Joe Burrell lobbying for two corners like he did with two odd receivers. So let's just assume that they're able to sign DJ and Dax walks at the end of this year. It would be great to have the very best cornerback in this draft class on the roster. And if they take a cornerback with the 10th overall pick, he will be their choice as the very best cornerback in this draft because I don't see any of those guys going before the 10th spot. Dan, what is your current level of concern or what level of urgency do you attach to the linebacker position? Still wish that they had signed one in free agency and it's still a

5:08possibility. Bobby Wagner is still out there. I'm kind of wildly hoping that that still is a strong possibility. I know he's old, but he was the 10th best linebacker in the NFL last year, according to pro football focus. So even though he doesn't have the foot speed that he had in his heyday with Seattle, he's still been a really good player for the last few years for Washington. So I haven't given up hope on that. Matt Milano has had a lot of injuries over the last three years. Maybe that scares away the bangles and other NFL teams. I could see why if that's the case. But he was certainly good, a good player before he started getting banged up and he's still out there. So it seems likely that they're going to draft at least one, but I still would love to see a proven veteran as part of that room. Let's talk some UC and we'll preview the show coming up here in just a second. You've been hanging out at UC's spring football practices. Any, any take away or mental notes you've made that have caught your eye? Quite a few. I think JC Forench the fourth

6:09has been impressive. I really didn't know what to expect. He had been pretty successful the last couple of years, the Georgia Southern. They're all time leading passer, led them to back-to-back, winning seasons won a ball game this year. But he didn't seem to be one of the top names in the transfer portal. I know they didn't have to pay him a bundle to get him to come to a Cincinnati, although he's being well compensated. But by and large, I think he's been good. He doesn't have the raw talent to Brendan Soresby, but he's an accurate passer. He throws a very catchable ball. I think he's sneaky fast as a runner. Now you don't want him to run a bunch because he's not nearly as big as Brendan Soresby, but having watched him now for most of the 14 practices that they've had, including today's practice, I think they can win with JC Forench at quarterback. Over to Hoops, Jared Calhoun's been here there everywhere pounding the pavement, pounding the portal, early thoughts on what he's been able to get done. I'm fairly impressed with the guys that they've

7:10added. Among the players that they've been able to get commitments from so far, I think Adlin Elimine, who they added today, who played for Jared at Utah. A state seems to be a guy that has tremendous upside. I'm really surprised or impressed by the fact that he got him to go to Utah, state in the first place. He was a four star recruit. He had a lot of big time offers. Jared convinced him to play for him there. And now he's convinced him to fall into Cincinnati. So he's got three years left. He's got high upside, a super athletic six nine guy. So that was great news today. As you know, I went to Syracuse. Miles Colvin had made eight threes against Syracuse this year for Wake Forest. So I know he can shoot. And Tyler Tahada is a guy that averaged nearly 18 points of game last year. He was a high volume shooter. So perhaps we can, you know, downgrade him a little bit for that. But I do like adding guys that I have a scoring average like that. And, you know, naturally, I'm excited about Eric Mahathe because anytime you can get a highly-totted

8:13local guy that wants to play for his hometown team, I think that's good. I mentioned you've got a special show coming up after me at eight tonight. Layout for listeners. What it's all about? What's going to take place? Yeah, we do. It'll be our final coaches radio show of the year. And we are splitting it up with two newcomers. The first half will be Cincinnati's new defensive coordinator, Nate Woody, who comes to Cincinnati after doing an awesome job the last six years at Army. I think I can promise Bearcat fans that they will not have to worry about too many three man past rushes this year. Yeah, he is going to send people after the quarterback. So I'm sure he will be asked about that a lot tonight. And then in the second half hour, Jared Calhoun is going to take some time out of his busy, busy portal combat to join us at the original Montgomery Inn. And I don't know how much he can say about individual players at this point until they have officially signed on the dotted line, but obviously everybody's eager to hear from Jared. And I'm looking forward to talking to him from 830 to 9 tonight.

9:14I know you are fired up with anticipation for tomorrow night's debut of the Huggins documentary Beyond the Bench. Memorial Hall will be the debut spot. Do you know, did you survive the cutting room floor? Are you in this? I'm fairly certain that I do appear. I don't know how much of my lengthy blabber is going to make the documentary, but I do think there are a couple of subjects that they wanted to include me on. So I have seen some snippets. I think it's incredibly well done. Kudos to Alan and his people for the lengths they went to really talk to everybody and anybody that they wanted to talk to. They flew all over the country basically to get anybody that they thought was important to weigh in on Coach Huggins career in his life. And I think people are really going to enjoy it. Last question. We've been known to a trade occasional TV show recommendations back and forth. Do you watch the pit? I have not. It's definitely on the list

10:24for my wife and I. The way it kind of works in our household lands is that I wait for the rest of the world to weigh in. And one, the public has decided that this is a great show and that seems to be the universal opinion. Then we die then. So I'm never on the cutting edge of these shows. I never watch them, you know, when they originally air, eventually I get around to most of the good ones. And we definitely have that mark down as something that we eventually have to watch. Yeah, it sounds like you agree. Yeah, it is really. I will admit, I'm a little squeamish. So there's at least a couple of scenes an episode I have to turn away from, but it's it is really good. You will really like it. No, Wiley is outstanding. Is he basically the same character that he was on ER? No, he's, he's like an older, more mature with a little bit of an edge because he's nearing the end. I don't want to, I don't want to spoil it for you, but it is. Yeah, it's cool. That it's kind of like 24 like Jack Bauer show. It's one day, hour by hour, it by episode. So
