5am I'm up with a crisp Celsius energy drink running 12 miles today grab a green juice quick change and head to work meetings workshops one more Celsius no slowing down working late but obviously still meeting the girls for a little dancing Celsius live fit go grab a cold refreshing Celsius at your local retailer or locate now at Celsius dot com this is Lakers talk on 710 ESPN it was the most impressive win of the season yesterday afternoon at crypto dot com arena the nicks will average 117 points a game finished with 97 points the lock down Lakers d held the nicks to just 97 points and look at hopes that keep building off that wire to wire per four minutes I mean it's pretty awesome win for sure you know they just came in they're good nugget about 40 and nuggets so I think it's a very big win for us it gives a lot of confidence moving forward head coach JJ Reddick hopes
to keep the squad focused my job is not to overreact we're 15 and nine in our last 24 were top 10 off into top 15 defense I think that's what we wanted to be coming into the season with this group and that's where our group is right now Lakers talk is presented by Hogue or the Pete against the two when pain keeps you from doing what you love Hogue or the paedic institute gets you back to you visit Hogue or the paedic institute dot com big at the help you need today and all new Lakers talk is on right now here's Andy Caminetski Lakers talk to him and ESPN LA 710 thanks to everyone who's been with us for the first hour thanks to everyone who will be with us for the next hour leading up to nine o'clock we're gonna talk about the upcoming slate of games Lakers have very challenging I think in a lot of ways could be very defining we're gonna talk about that also we are going to address La Elephant in La Room the question that has been circulating around fan I see what you did
there see what I did there La Elephant in La Room as I often like to say at times he will get passive aggressive but they're after the Lakers very decisive win over the next one 1097 which LeBron was not able to play in the elbow contusion there has been the latest round of questioning whether or not the Lakers are better without LeBron I have thoughts on this but they kind of flip the question on its head a bit or redefine it a bit so want to get into that but before we get into all that two and three seven nine nine zero one three nine if you want to weigh in two one three seven nine nine zero one three nine JJ in Belmont shores you're on Lakers talk it's up JJ and the hell are your brother I'm sorry you and punch you are under the weather yeah we are man I'm sorry about that thank you okay Indian coming at you okay when you
say are the Lakers better with LeBron or not why would you say that you know it's true they are well here's here's what I would say JJ I mean I don't want to get completely ahead of what I'm eventually going to get into but I think you can make an argument in either direction like I don't even know if the difference with or without LeBron is definitively that big in either direction but there is one very very big difference with LeBron versus without LeBron that I think is beneficial for the Lakers and that I think they do need to figure out but this look this is not a talent heavy team they're very top heavy LeBron has skill sets that the team can benefit from and he is he is one of the players on the team but there is also the reality that him and
Luca and Austin have not been a particularly cohesive mix they're gonna be playing a lot of minutes together there's no way around it and that's been riddled for JJ to solve so Andy you'd lead into last night with Beto and with the punchy I love you baby punchy okay when when we talked I said this is either a preview of next year with Connard and everybody busting ass oh I'm sorry and with or LeBron Luca Austin coming at the finals then just blow in every one away what do you think about bad Andy welcome I don't know we're
gonna get into coming up the the question about LeBron and which I think is I think it's an interesting question that I'm not sure everyone is looking at it entirely the right way like I don't think it is simply a black versus white better versus worse a or b thing but we're gonna get into that coming up next but before then starting yesterday against the mix again Lakers 1 10 97 win very one of their best wins of the season I would argue their best defensive win of the year you know I hate New York fans too why I don't know they just take over crypto.com arena and with their nixters are you are you saying though the NBA versions of Niners fans over kind of kind of yeah kind of yeah look through these are made out of New York stuff and you know well it depends on where shall I mean York I'm walking in I'm walking in a slice of pizza you sound like and you sound like an Andrew Dice impersonator impersonator like
somebody who impersonates somebody who we don't know what so far I I did not expect for us to get sidetracked on Andrew Dice Clay talk yet here we are years ago I used to bartend at the now defunct Carnegie deli in Beverly Hills it was like the LA version of the New York one that I think is still around it's the more famous one it's the massive one the big sandwiches it's like it's the one that uh it's pretty sure it's the one I didn't know how one out here they did well I mean if you if you didn't see it before 94 you weren't gonna see it all because it closed down that I but I believe I was actually the last employee that I don't think that was the reason they closed but I'm pretty sure it's you know the the famous orgasm seen with Meg Ryan and Billy yes yes yes when Harry met Sally I think that's Carnegie deli I think it's either Carnegie or stages but anyway I used to work at the Beverly Hills one and I was
walking to work and I had to walk one time for whatever reason where I part past I don't even know if it's still there but Mulberry Street pizza which is owned by the actress Kathy Moriarty I've heard it as pizza that I don't know she was in raging or whatever I don't know if it's still is her and she was in raging bull and she was also in the adventures of Ford Fairlane with Andrew Dice I love that movie so you have to really love that I was walking past Mulberry Street pizza and outside of this outdoor table is dice and he is holding court with people and he's in like full dice regalia he's got like leather jacket headband on cigarette cigarette he's got the the gloves that are cut off at the fingers and I cannot repeat the joke that I heard but as I'm walking past I hear him say this joke very very dice joke and end it with the oh and I'm like oh
my god is this really him is like is this not an act like is this actually injured like this unless he's workshopping this material I'm like is this just how Andrew Dice Clay hangs out like late afternoon having pizza with friends he's just dice it was kind of great gotta be in character a whole time I guess I was like I always assumed that this was some type of stage persona because before then what I knew dice he was in remember pretty in pink he was the door man yeah that's right that doesn't let Ducky into the club and like he had done like a few small roles like that until he broke out with like the nursery rhyme yes and then he was doing like stadium right and they're like the truly like X rated massage and this stuff like he hosted SNL and I can't remember which host boy caught it nor done when she sat out of there's two there's two Marbury Street pizzas in Beverly Hills one in Cino and one and from a note well congratulations to Kathy Moriarty because it
sounds like the the places even more successful than I thought also another another one in a resorts world in Vegas she she's an excellent actress so good for her seems to me that bunch had a bad interaction with a nicks fan you know last night oh oh oh gee and no be oh isolate that that's gotta be that anytime New York sports anything comes up we need that it sounds like you're doing half-like Xeros New York half-walking ah ah ah ah ah catch Christopher walk oh gee and a noby Day Lynn Brunson this watch that Jaylin Brunsie Avrovado now you're kind of becoming Christopher walkin meets Stephen A's but he's from New York too right? I know from Hollis very very Hollis Queen's very proud very proud long suffering Nick fam and fill it up he is uh
fill it in the Eagles fan as well yeah he worked I know he is from New York work for the Phillip Philadelphia and choir for a long time so yeah I think yeah he's a Nick's fan but he and iverson had a good relationship so maybe he had a soft spot for the sixers unless they were playing the next possibly so yeah yeah one more one more New York voice punchy ticker ticker oh gee no all right we got we got unexpectedly sidetracked coming up we will talk about this slate of games for the Lakers and also that question the elephant the room involving the brawl we'll get in all that coming on next 710 ESPN small terror look I get it gop 1 weight loss shots are popular they're everywhere but not everyone is thrilled about weekly injections so what if your glp 1 was as easy to take as a mint that's why I want you to know about compounded turzapatide it's a mint flavored tablet you simply let dissolve under your tongue no needles it's designed to help curb appetite and reduce cravings even sweets and carbs which are my personal enemies and when hungers

in the home of Lakers talk Lakers win it 110 to 97 in the best offensive game the Lakers have played in a long time the Lakers picked up their second straight win at home and Austin Reeves likes the strong defensive effort tonight was a good step in the you know right direction they're a really good team they told me out there that they average 117 look all the team to 97 points you know that caliber is just shows that you know our grittiness that we've become to enjoy to do on a defensive map Lakers talk is presented by Hogue orthopedic institute and paint keeps you from doing what you love Hogue orthopedic institute gets you back to you is in Hogue orthopedic institute dot com to get the help you need today more and Lakers talk with Andy Kamenetsky rolls off oh still to this day best concert I've ever seen
1992 the palladium George Clinton in the parliament punkadelic played for like five and a half hours without a break there was all sorts of celebrities and sports figures shuffling up and down the stage including one magic Johnson or at least they said they really one of them held up a sign saying magic Johnson in the house I do I know for a fact Eric gave us some Darryl strawberry we're on stage dancing around um then hello that's a hell of a duo that is a hell of a duo and then at one point who'd see walks through the crowd like in the big platform boots amazing Sheila E played with them they were they were unreal I want to know the Snoop Dogg version do you do you do yeah to be young to be young again speaking of which we'll talk about Lebron coming up in just a second but the Lakers have a tough stretch and I think a really important stretch of games coming up they actually began yesterday
against the next Sunday afternoon so far so good 110 97 win over a very good next team the Lakers the big point of contention and attraction and doubt against them is they have not beaten a lot of teams above 500 much less teams above 500 that are at full strength they did that against the next the next were air at full strength I don't recall anybody missing who really mattered in that game Lakers didn't have Lebron and they beat him by 13 points like that was a really really good start tomorrow at the ungodly hour of eight o'clock bm they will take on the minutes bunches shaking his head right now beyond right to they will take on the Minnesota Timberwolves at the crypt again that game can be heard right here on 710 ESPM pre pre game coverage begins at 630 they already have the tiebreaker against the timberwolves but this game would have implications for seating like trying to they are a game
behind the timberwolves so they win this game they will be tied for the three seat I believe they that they'll put them at eight unless something happens tonight with the seating everything because Minnesota is 40 and 24 correct I just know their game behind maybe the wins and losses like the amount of games they've played I'm not sure I just know there's a game currently separating them because I could have said not 39 and 25 so I do believe you're right yeah I mean it's it's super tight like the distance between last I checked the standings and they may change before all the games are done but last I checked the distance between three and seven was three games it's just like last year it is super tight in the west other than the thunder who just beat Denver she had the go ahead bucket oh my she's game if you see his line she's game tonight including the go ahead winning bucket over the nuggets 35 points on 14 of 21 from the field three of seven from behind the arc only four trips to the line before people start bitching about free throw merchant only four trips to the line
15 assists against zero turnovers nine rebounds a steel and a block like I actually saw Bill Simmons tweeted out the MVP races over that wasn't quite sure what he meant and then I looked at the box I was like oh I think that's what he means and also not to mention he tied Will Chamberlain 126 straight games with 20 plus points he is so good I can't believe that you know that he has that record would will he is with Michael Jordan cove guard all those guys guard too like it has a small guard like it I mean he's not Iverson small but he's slender like it man he's so good but anyway so they messed up yeah I mean look in retrospect yes at the time everyone thought it was a good trade everyone thought it in retrospect oh my god it was a disaster but uh they play the wolves tomorrow the lakers then they get a bit of a break against the bulls then they play Denver on Saturday by the way I will be filling in for better grand on pre-imposed that game on Saturday versus Denver then they get consecutive although not
back-to-back but consecutive road games against the Rockets the Rockets are the team ahead of them right now in the foreseed only half a game last time I look so two games against the Rockets and the Rockets they need to win both of these games if they're going to have a tiebreaker against Houston they also need to win Saturday against Denver if they want that tiebreaker it's currently one one then they've got games against the heat on the second end I believe of the back-to-back against the Rockets then the magic that by the way the heat are playing very well right now they're on a five-game winning streak the magic are on a four-game winning streak then they get the pistons who are currently skidding but by then they may have righted the ship a lot of it'll end on whether or not a sartonson is back and then they get a bit of a break with I think the past I asked one of my favorite drops play this song baby they get um then a break I want to say Pacer's Nets Wizards but this is a tough stretch of games and this is a stretch of
games that could really shape the narrative about this team externally but I think also to some degree internally like is you can only have so much self-belief while still not beating the good teams before eventually you feel like are we just kidding ourselves like are we just telling ourselves what we want to hear you can only believe we got the parts we got the right roster we got whatever you know we got Luca Donchic you can only lose to the good teams so many times before you just don't believe in yourself one of the big three is LeBron James he was not at or he was at Sunday's game he was not playing in Sunday's game against the next that win 110 97 second straight game LeBron has missed with an elbow injury and the standard arthritic foot he is questionable for tomorrow against the wolves with a new injury along with the foot there's a right hip contusion no idea the backstory on that but this win over the next yesterday combined with
the strong play at the beginning of the season when LeBron was not available dealing with sciatica and the numbers with Luca LeBron and Austin all playing together versus Luca and Austin the amount of games they've had against the amount of wins they've had against good teams with versus without LeBron it has raised the question yet again about whether or not the lakers are better without LeBron and the way I would actually frame it is this I understand where the question is coming from and I I think you can make an argument in some respects that they are better without LeBron I think in a lot of ways it will be on a case by case game by game matchup by matchup bases particularly when you're talking about against the good teams like LeBron is still a talented player they will miss that talent at times I think you can also make the argument they are worse without LeBron again case by case game by game matchup by matchup bases I think the reality is the difference between having LeBron and not having LeBron
over the course of this season has not seemed so massive to in some respects even be worth trying to figure out all the different riddles that come with working LeBron into this equation because the difference with LeBron hasn't been so much greater that the juice feels worth the squeeze but what we saw against the nicks coming up I mean what we saw against the nicks and I'll explain more coming up I think the real question is not are they better without LeBron are they worse without LeBron I think the real question and answer is they are less complicated without LeBron LeBron adds a layer of complication that creates issues and riddles to solve for the lakers that when he's not there as we saw yesterday against the nicks it doesn't necessarily mean better but it means less complicated I'll explain why that matters coming up next Lakers talk Andy Kiminetsky 710 ESPN from 30 for 30 podcasts
Brian Patta senior defensive lineman from Miami gunned down the key to this case it's Brian a hour before he died he was on a phone arguing what's about this might be a hit you want to treat we had a killer amongst us murder at the you listen now more lakers talk with Andy Kiminetsky rolls on the lake so pulled off another win at home after a quick turnaround and head coach JJ reddick is proud of how the boys grinded out the win to me this wasn't an offensive game like it wasn't going to be an offensive game this was going to be a gritty tough game that we had to win with effort and we did that Lakers talk is presented by Hogue orthopedic institute when pain keeps you from doing what you love Hogue orthopedic institute gets you back to you isn't Hogue orthopedic institute dot com to get the help you need today and all new lakers talk is on right now back to Andy Kiminetsky
Lakers talk Andy Kiminetsky ESPN LA 710 and to talk a little bit more about this question of the lakers being better or not better without LeBron or why I think really the question isn't better versus worse but complicated versus less complicated but before then Peter in Ontario you're on lakers talk it's up Peter what's up aka how you guys doing good man okay two quick points and regards to Braun you're saying does he make the team better or worse of course he makes the team better the problem with LeBron is offensively he holds the ball too long he bogs the offense where I what I see is with AR and Luca they're moving the ball a little better Chris beer now if LeBron was to concentrate on defense more on defense almost like a dream on green type of player we would be a much better team that's one point what's the other uh second and then the second point was
what can we get is there a buyout person or player that we could get that that could help this team not really are we stuck with this team with the playoffs there's a appreciate the call I mean not really no I mean it's been it's honestly been a pretty uneventful buyout period it's quiet really quiet it's been super quiet and the best guys are arguably the best guys that went anywhere like Cam Thomas the Lakers I don't think had a chance in a hell of getting like I would have been stunned if the Lakers were even on Cam Thomas's ballot been the worst signing day would ever done well let's I'm not saying it would have been good signing I'm saying he's the biggest name and he's you know he's the most established score at the very least he would want more opportunities than he would give the Lakers like I would have been stunned if he would have said yes to the idea of going to the Lakers Lakers got too many of those guys on the roster exactly I mean you can argue the fit isn't even there but I'm saying I'll take it a step further he's not saying yes even if the Lakers want him and then like I don't know maybe the next best name
would be Jeremy Sohan and he's not really playing with the next at all because surprise he's not it helps out he doesn't help him out the offensively well I mean I'm just Jared Vanderbilt East with with uh with different hair yeah more exciting multicolored he's like the uh Joseph in the technical dream code I remember he's a European version of Jared Vanderbilt I guess I remember uh Lakers fans are like oh yeah Lakers to go out there and get him this get Jeremy Sohan I'm like no well I don't even know if the opportunity for minutes would have been there that heavily like if JJ is not going to play Vando or seems reluctant to play Vando I don't think he was going to play Sohan that much those are probably the two best guys that have signed and that would have been really like that would have been realistic for the Lakers I think that that would have found the Lakers an enticing spot for them let's say uh Sacramento finally gets their thing together and this is hey we're gonna release we're gonna buy out Damar DeRose he's too late he's not eligible for a playoff yeah I mean like that's part of what I'm talking about too for those on
to wear the deadlines over like you have to be on to maybe eligible eligible for the playoffs to be eligible for the playoffs you have to have been a free agent by March 1st oh well then so Damar DeRosen is in eligible can I be honest with that too I would I wouldn't like that either or Damar DeRosen if he wasn't being addition to this Lakers team but we finally would have made fetch happened we finally would have had Damar DeRosen as a Laker which fans have been clamoring for for like the last four or five years come home talk about a guy who was ball dominant he needs a ball in his hands and be effective it's true it's true I mean you can argue it's quadrupling down on something that is not tripling down working yeah it's I mean to be totally honest like it's basically saying you know what this isn't working with three but what if we did it with four more why we made it a perfect square maybe the problem is that it's a square not a triangle that's the problem we need to make it a perfect square of ball handlers and then this will somehow
work but anyway getting back to that question I don't think honestly the difference in terms of having LeBron versus not having LeBron in terms of better or for worse or worse is a definitive answer one way or the other I think certain games certain matchups maybe they look better without LeBron like like if for example if they're looking to play super hard super fast all the time that may be easier to do without LeBron there's definitely going to be some matchups where if they didn't have LeBron they would miss him like they would miss him a lot like LeBron is still a good player and his passing is still elite he still makes past plays that 99% of the league can't make or even see ahead of time enough to make but I recently summarized this on Twitter and I think it's actually a pretty clean summary the Lakers may not be better or worse to be honest without LeBron but they are less complicated streamlining three ball handling offensive hubs and overlapping
skill sets is complicated attempting high energy defense for 48 minutes with a 48 year old for it 41 year old 48 minutes 41 year old is complicated things are simpler to map out including the small p politics of defining roles without LeBron now that doesn't mean LeBron brings nothing to the table or his finger quotes washed that's simply untrue but in this context his presence arguably adds more complications than solutions and I think that's really what the issue is like it's not that LeBron is bad now or can't bring anything to the table now or is washed or what that's that's not the case at all the problem is they have a complicated riddle of figuring out an offense that is built around in the majority of minutes built around three guys all of whom are most comfortable and most productive with the ball in their hands Luca Austin LeBron none of whom particularly thrive off ball like I think Austin especially in LeBron to a tangible degree
can play off ball but none of them thrive off ball like none of them I think are an off ball player like you would look to use them like a true off ball threat so you've got those overlapping skill sets which also when the three of them are out there that means somebody else you could put out there with them with more skill set variance isn't on the floor because the three of them are all out there and then you obviously too have the defensive issues and redundancies that come with all three of them out there it is simpler and cleaner without LeBron that doesn't necessarily mean better it doesn't necessarily mean worse in some ways it might mean more functional and maybe more functional can bring out a simpler more productive more reliable version of the Lakers but they would miss his talent the problem is the fit isn't good and let me run an idea I had
passed you guys I think you would agree LeBron has never fully ingratiated himself to the Laker fanbase like I don't think the Laker fanbase has ever been fully attached to LeBron on a consistent basis over eight years would you agree with that yeah I can agree I mean it was a honeymoon stage and ending very quickly yeah yeah I mean the his first season to be honest there was I think kind of a detachment between him and fans and the second season they want a championship and LeBron I thought played a critical role in shepherding the organization through Kobe's death and I thought LeBron really and sincerely put a lot of that on his shoulders you know the team led by LeBron openly won a title dedicated to Kobe like they wanted to win in LeBron's name and I think that was I mean in Kobe's name in that I think that was the most attached and then from there you know there was the rust trade which LeBron took a lot of heat for and just the general perception of LeBron and clutch big footing the organization LeBron feeling like a mercenary and kind of an
interloper and in the in the perceptions of a lot of fans thinking he was bigger than the organization and that's not something Laker fans really can get behind if LeBron wanted to win over Laker fans right now the way to do it or out way to do it for a large swath of fans volunteer to come off the bench like if LeBron actually volunteered to come off the bench to help declutter the situation you make it clear I do not think LeBron is obligated to do this like this is not something players of LeBron stature do often like I remember asking Kobe when remember when Lamar Odom got moved to the bench and Lamar was initially pissed and Lamar was like as team friendly a guy as I've ever covered Lamar was initially angry about this like openly mad he said Phil Jackson had quote lost his rabbit mind like he was mad about this and I remember asking Kobe about this and Kobe said you know I actually think this could be a cool role
for Lamar like you come in you get to run your own unit you change the context and tone of games Lamar still gonna play a lot of minutes he's still an important part of this team he's gonna close every game like I think this would be great for Lamar so I followed up and asked Kobe and I was super specific in the way that I phrase this I said could you ever envision yourself towards the very end of your career as a six man and Kobe looks at me and goes that's a dumbest question you've ever asked is like of course not I'm not doing that and by the way I don't think he was being facetious at all or insincere about Lamar I think he was being sincerious serious like this is a great role for Lamar Odom I'm not doing it like there's no way in hell I'm doing this but I think for Lamar would be great so I I'm not saying LeBron is obligated to do this I'm saying if he wants to win over some fans that's how you do it fans would there is no way LeBron James
will ever voluntarily come off the bench there's no way that will ever happen again I don't so it's clear I do not think he is obligated to take the step at all like you could just as easily make the argument that if this is necessary it's up to JJ to man up and say this is what we need you to do like you can put just as much onus on JJ as LeBron or you can make an argument that Austin should volunteer to do this to that that is exactly why JJ was implementing staggering their minutes I think that is his way of addressing absolutely LeBron James and a chemistry among him Luca and AR him staggering minutes and putting LeBron James with that secondary unit which has been good it's has been good and I think that is his way of answering to the media as far as have you seen the numbers when Luca and AR play and have you seen the numbers on the trio of them play I think he's responding in that sense again I cannot make this clear enough and I'm being sincere I do not think LeBron is obligated to make this offer at all like especially to like this late in the season you could argue perhaps it becomes too complicated to figure out
like they have to reassemble the rotation a bit like it might be too far gone to do that I'm just saying like the thought hit me you know if LeBron whose relationship has been with Laker fans so hot and cold over the years I think more cold than hot one did do something that would make them go oh hell yeah that guy cares about the Lakers winning that's the move I'm not saying he's obligated again not saying he's obligated just the thought occurred to me you want to talk about like a you know when politicians run for office they look for ways that uh you know can win the popular vote you know you want try to become a populist uh politician that's how you do it by the way someone in youtube chat says Jay in the youtube chat says that LeBron he's giving away the free blaze pizzas he's eight he's eight years overdue on that he is he really is you know what I I mean I remember that rumor when he first came he was gonna give a piece of everybody that was
I'm not joking I think that actually got LeBron off to a legitimately bad vote with Lakers fans and to be clear get over it it's like really truly get over it like he helped bring a championship to the organization he has played his ass off for the team he's largely been very quite quite good for this team set all time records with the organization like get over the blaze pizza thing I do think though it got some fans off to a bad foot that they've never quite gotten past like this was supposed to be their first like come on LeBron give us a free pepperoni well is he still a blaze pizza guy I think he is I think he's really good up yeah look it up real quick see if there's Google LeBron blaze pizza see if anything comes up other than later yeah tell I need a little barbecue drizzle on my pizza remember I don't know if I have not been through the concourse at crypto in a while but I remember when they specifically brought in blaze because LeBron was a blaze guy and then all of a sudden blaze was at the
concession like on the concourse you find anything crunchy he's still an investor he's still investor a major investor in blaze ooh playoff party that's how you kick off the blaze there we go LeBron host some type of playoff kickoff event and and it becomes easier to do if the lakers are foreseater higher because they begin with home court so that becomes the extra incentive for LeBron to play super well so he can have this blaze pizza extravaganza and help bring this tragic slight full circle after eight years who's with me I went through on that but I just want to see and go back to a blaze pizza and just hand out pizza I love the idea of LeBron like working the pizza of and like working the sauce like remember the commercials with shack when when shack was it like dominoes or poppodons poppodons and shack is in the back like stretching dough putting sauce down into a blaze pizza where they have you know we we see everything going on
yeah it's it's a it's a tough job it's a tough job I've never had the sacaroni I've never had the sacaroni have you had the sacaroni I've not had the sacaroni I think it's just like bonus pepperoni on the pizza honestly big pepperoni not extra pepperoni I it would be actually really fun to watch LeBron do that I first of all is ambidextrous you can use both hands equally well you can probably handle like a couple jobs at once you know the court vision you can see ahead to the problems on the sauce line or whatever it's really hectic there because it's one of those places where you can get like a thousand toppings or whatever so like you might forget he might forget like someone's olives on a pizza or something I mean it's I as somebody who's bartended weighted tables and actually I have worked when I was a teenager I guess the equivalent of like a blaze pizza type job you're correct not as easy as you think especially when you're slammed when you're slammed everything feels like that episode of the bear where that episode of the bear
where the ticket machine goes insane anyone who's ever worked at a restaurant knows that feeling like this that feeling of it's like you're obviously it's not literal but it's like you're in war and you're never going to get out of this battle all right coming up as always we close out a little crunch time funchies got the topics the Andre and I weigh in Lakers talk 710 ESPN spring is here and there's a whole new way to try at Starbucks that's made perfect for you choose your sweetness dial it up or keep things light at a touch of pistachio a hint of strawberry or vanilla or make it a spring classic with lavender because this season there's endless ways to try at Starbucks your little one grew three inches overnight adorable also expensive sell their pint size pieces on deep hop and list them in minutes with no selling fees because somewhere a dad refuses to pay full price for the clothes his kid will outgrow tomorrow and he's ready to buy
your son's entire wardrobe right now consider your future growth spread budget secured start selling on deep hop where taste recognizes taste payment processing fees and boosting fees still apply see website for details it's crunch time on Lakers talk clock is ticking and it's all coming down to the wire you know what that means this is crunch time all right as always we close out with some crunch time funchies got a couple topics the Andre and I weigh in what you got Bunchie all right big news at a from shams yes this is what he wrote you know what I had to check to see if it was like a shams parody or something you know one of those ten shams parody accounts on twitter whatever but this is from ESPN and shams the NBA has canceled the Atlanta Hawks plans for a celebration of the city's magic city strip club saying Monday that is responded to concerns from
many across the league the event was supposed to happen next Monday in their game versus your Orlando magic I guess they're just gonna have a magic city night and celebrate this institution in Atlanta as they say with the good wings and the good people I suppose and yeah um so I'm gonna ask you guys do you guys think that this should have been canceled and should it should have been a night from the get go well one of the things that I find kind of crazy about this based on the Hawks statement quote while we are very disappointed in the NBA's decision to cancel our magic city night promotion we fully respect its decision as a franchise we remain committed celebrating the best of Atlanta without this authenticity and ways that continue to night bring us all together and then Adam silver had said when we became aware of the Atlanta Hawks schedule promotion we reached out to Hawks leadership to better understand the plans for action out like did they plan a tribute to magic city like whether you think it's cool like and fine for the NBA not
but whatever did they actually plan this thing and okay it without at least running it past the league and yeah we were talking about this earlier and I think probably yes because I'm thinking like every team to lead doesn't have to give the lead you know their parameters of their night of a night you know give away night basically I mean without sounding like a brood at the risk of that when most NBA nights are not in conjunction celebrating a strip club and and so I'm not even saying that there is necessarily anything wrong with a strip club I'm just saying that feels like something that should be talked over with the league offices unless the entire goal because Hawks co-owner actress Jamie Gertz she has a documentary coming out of the lost boys the lost boys yes the lost boys less than zero a sin zero yes I wonder if this was just all part of promotion for the upcoming documentary and whatever happened with the promo happened with the promo deandrade what do you think of all this honestly man I've been hearing this for the whole entire week of last I was
obsessed yes yes I've been hearing it non-stop I personally do not care about being real like okay cool if they have a majesty deny and they want to promote some wings and all that stuff go for it they don't want to have it they don't have it they're simple is that yeah I can understand the objections and to be perfectly honest like all I would say is for the people objecting very heavily I genuinely get it but if you really start peeling back the layers of other money associations with the NBA and some of the money that they are willing to accept and this one night partnership that was deemed inappropriate all I'm gonna say is be careful with your moralizing that's it honestly that you don't have to bring your kids you know what the event is you don't have to bring to the boy I like to see who's gonna be an audience that night at the magic city you know what the most important thing they're apparently still providing the lemon pepper wings which really what most people want it anyway I'm I'm I'm pretty positive the wings are still going to be how I've said you
think the Williams is that they're not having the magic city night anymore he was supposed to get his jersey retired at Magic City about the Hawks by both I'm sure his jersey has been retired at Magic City I'm sure him and James Hardin has been retired and also this guy too strip day yeah so yeah by the way 12 to 3 Mason Ireland tomorrow this is the entire show yeah yeah it will be the entire show tomorrow and also just a just a heads up um six days ago today this happened and if you don't know what that is that's Rudy go where putting his dirty hands all over the microphones and being patient zero and starting this COVID-19 business you know it's so funny that you say starting this pandemic which I know you obviously don't mean but there are people who I
think legitimately blame Rudy go bear for the band he stopped he stopped sports he literally stopped sports for two years well look sports we're gonna stop remember Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson they're by the same night as Rudy go bear the problem is Rudy go bear like that was just not a joke to make in that moment yes I know and it reinforced the very overwhelming narrative that nobody likes Rudy go bear like nobody seems to like that guy like I'm talking fans I'm talking peers like Mike Conley's his buddy like Mike Conley seems to be the one guy that likes him whip him till the end yeah came back to him got cut from the team got traded away and came back for Rudy go bear they're like a package deal the honor real quick I mean that moment while just look back at the video my what that was doing I think it's such a dude what are you thinking moment all right thank you to John Krasinski from the athletic and the John Krasinski show for dropping by to help us preview Lakers wolves tomorrow that game again eight p.m. pregame coverage begins here at six thirty
