Kuwait Mourns Martyrs Amid Rising Tensions

The men of Lieutenant Colonel and a major from the Land Border Security team were honored as martyrs by the government. Areas near the international airport came under attack that same Sunday morning. Kuwaiti forces intercepted several missiles and drones in response, according to Army statements. The ceremony took place as Sulay Baccat Cemetery and was led by the first deputy prime minister and interior minister, along with other top leaders. It drew attention amid rising regional tensions. Kuwait hosts key United States military bases and has phased drone and missile strikes from Iran during his conflicts with Israel and the United States. Since the start of the Iran crisis, officials report five deaths in total, including four military personnel and one young girl. Plus dozens of injuries.
