KPop Demon Hunters Sequel Announced

0:00From the Daily News Now Network, this is Corey with Entertainment and Celebrity News today. Netflix just announced a sequel to the hit animated film K-Pop Demon Hunters. Co-directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhands are returning to lead the project with Sony Pictures Animation producing it. This will be the first film under the director's new multi-year deal for writing and directing animation projects. The original movie became Netflix's most-washed original title ever and grabbed major awards attention this season. It earned a nomination for Best Animated Feature at the 98th Academy Awards set for March 15th. The soundtrack hit Golden also got a nod for Best Original Song, marking the first time a K-Pop track made the Oster List. Golden already won Best Original Song at the Golden Globes in January and Best Song for Visual Media at the 2026 Grammys in February. Another first for K-Pop, the director shared their excitement, calling it a dream come true, and the start of more stories in this vibrant world.
