Kopitar Breaks Kings' Scoring Record

Anzhe Kopital just passed Marcel Dianne for the most career points in Los Angeles

King's history.

The 38-year-old center hit 1,308 points in 1,505 games, breaking the mark with two goals

against the New Jersey Devils.

Dianne held that record for over 45 years with 1,307 points in just 921 games.

Kopital has spent his entire 20-season career with the Kings after being picked 11th in

the 2005 draft.

He won two standing cups in 2012 and 2014 and leads the team in scoring for a record 15th

time this year.

Even in 51 games this season, he has 30 points with 10 goals and 20 assists.

Fans and teammates are celebrating his milestone as the sign of his lasting impact.

Known for his two-way play, Kopital ranks high among active players and assists and has

14-20 goal seasons, the most in King's history.
