Kingman Seeks Input on Proposed 4-Year Mayor Term

The City of Kingman is reminding residents that they may now submit written arguments either in support of or against a proposed change to the mayor's term length. At its March 3, 2026 regular meeting, the Kingman City Council adopted ordinance number 1992, which places the question of a four-year mayor term before voters for consideration. The measure will appear on the ballot for the primary election on July 21, 2026, allowing residents to decide the outcome. Community members who wish to share their perspective may submit an argument either in support of or in opposition to the measure for inclusion in the official election publicity pamphlet. The deadline to submit arguments is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the City Clerk's office located at 310 North Fourth Street. Arguments in regards to the four-year mayor term must include the heading, argument for four-year mayor term or argument against four-year mayor term. Arguments are

1:00limited to 300 words in length, not including the required heading or signature block, and must contain the sworn statement of each person sponsoring it. Each signature appearing with the argument must include the following statement above the signature, I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing information is true and correct and I am the sponsor of this argument advocating or opposing this proposition. If the argument is sponsored by an organization, it must contain the sworn statement of two executive officers of the organization. If the argument is sponsored by a political committee, it must contain the sworn statement of the committee's chairman or treasurer. The argument must include a signature block. The address and phone number for each signer must be included on the argument, but will not be printed in the publicity pamphlet. Arguments must be submitted with an original signature and notarized. An electronic version of the argument must also be concurrently presented to the City Clerk at Emeritus at CityofKingman.gov. Submission of the electronic document alone does not constitute the official submission of an argument. Arguments not meeting the specifications outlined above will be returned to the submitting
