Khalil Mack Re-signs with Chargers

This deal came Saturday, just four days before the NFL Free Agency period starts. Mack heads into his 13th professional season and fifth with the Chargers. All off-season, fans and analysts wondered if the veteran would stay in Los Angeles. Earlier reports suggested he planned a test-free agency. But now it's settled, bringing him back in the powder-blue uniforms. Chargers' general manager, Joe Hortes, made no secret that the team wanted Mack and fellow-free agent Odoffe away to return. He noted it often takes time after the season ends, but they kept working on deals. Mack adds a steady presence to the defense after a strong year with 5.5 sacks, 19 solo tackles and four forced fumbles. That pushes career sack total to 113.
