Kevin Williamson Remembers James Van Der Beek

Vandor Beak, who starred as the lead character Dawson Leary, died at age 48 from colorectal cancer. Diagnose was stage 3 of the disease back in 2023, he was a father of 6. Williamson spoke on a recent podcast episode, saying he was thankful for reconnecting with Vandor Beak in their final years. He recalled their first meeting during auditions, when a young Vandor Beak was mumbling lines and Williamson pushed him to speak clearly. The show Dawson's Creek ran for six successful seasons, wrapping up in 2003. It captured the ups and downs of teenage life and made Vandor Beak a household name. Just 22 years later, the cast reunited for a one-night charity event in New York City last September. Fans loved the laughs and nostalgia, but it felt bittersweet without Vandor Beak there.
