Kentucky Wildcats Seek Backup Center

0:00On April 25, Kentucky Wildcats are hunting for a backup center this off-season after losing Brandon Garrison to the transfer portal in Jaden, Quaintance to the NBA draft. Their main guy, 7-foot-1 Malachai Marano from right here in Kentucky, is testing the NBA waters, but should return as the starter next season. Coach Mark Pope targeted 7-foot-5 USC transfer, Gabe Dines, a Kentucky native from Independence. Dines visited Lexington this week, then headed straight to Louisville to see Pat Kelsey, and this morning he committed to the Cardinals. Big blue nation isn't sweating it much. Fans actually seemed relieved since Dines barely produced a USC last year, and with some questions about Marano's physicality, they want a tough backup, to bang in the paint.
