Kentucky Basketball Lands Transfer Jerone Morton

The six-foot four-point guard from right here in Lexington signed on Wednesday, one day after Justin McBride from James Madison joined the Wildcats. Morton balled at George Rogers Carcay, leading them to a state title in 2022. He started at Morehead State, averaging just 2.2 points as a freshman, but jumped to 10.4 points and nearly 30 minutes a game in his sophomore year. At Washington State in the Pac-12, he put up 7.8 points, 2.6 assists, and shot nearly 40% from three, showing he can hang at higher levels. He's adding solid depth to a Kentucky squad rebuilding after a ref 2025-2026 season. No big star yet, especially after Tyron Stokes picked Kansas, but Morton's steady production fits right in. The roster's filling out with returners, like Trent Noah and Braden Hawthorne, freshman Zion Hawthorne and Mason Williams, plus transfers and a Euro.
