Karen Carter's Murder: Love Triangle Turns Deadly

0:00On April 29th, a 65-year-old British ex-pat named Karen Carter was stabbed to death outside her home in the French village of Tremelot Inn. Door-done last April 29th. She had just left the wine-tasting event when the attack happened, and her family now says they have a strong hunch about who did it. The case revolves around a messy love triangle. Carter was splitting from her South Africa-based husband while getting close to 75-year-old Jean-François Gouarier, a retired exec who lived, nearby, and hosted that wine-tasting. But another woman, 70-year-old Marie-Lawre Audiforte, was reportedly obsessed with Gouarier and furious about Carter. Gariard drove to Carter's place after she didn't call him and found her body in a pool of blood. Both he and Audiforte got arrested early on, but were released without charges. They deny everything, and Audiforte's brother calls the idea of her killing anyone ridiculous, blaming police for a botched start. Investigators have DNA from them and 15 party guests, but nothing matches the scene.
