Kansas State Hires Casey Alexander for Big Twelve

The Wildcats fired Jerome Tang back in February and just hired Belmont's Kacey Alexander on a five-year deal worth about $3.4 million dollars a year on average. This comes right after their season ended with a big loss to Brigham Young University in the Big 12 tournament. The move happened fast with reports breaking late Thursday and details out by Friday morning. For the tournament, Kansas State looked at a few candidates like Utah State's Jared Calhoun and St. Louis's Josh Schertz, but they landed on. Alexander for his winning track record. Alexander brings solid experience from smaller conferences. He spent seven years at Belmont, posting a 166 wins to 60 losses record, grabbing three regular season titles and racking up at least 20 wins every season. His teens made noise, though a conference tournament upset kept Belmont out of the NCAA tournament this year, despite a strong 26 and 6 mark.

It's his first gig in a major conference like the Big 12 where he steps in to rebuild a program that missed the postseason.
