Justin Joyner Named Oregon State's New Coach

The Bieber's part are ways with Wayne Tinkle after 12 years, including a surprise run to the Elite 8 back in 2021. This move comes right after their season ended with a loss to Gonzaga in the West Coast Conference tournament. Joyner brings strong West Coast roots to the job. He played at the University of California Santa Barbara, spent seven years as an assistant at St. Mary's under Randy Bennett and join Michigan. The last two seasons with Dusty May, his wife Tracy even coaches women soccer at the University of Oregon, adding a local family tie. The Oregon State program faces big challenges ahead. After that magical 2021 tournament, they struggled with a three-win season the next year. This past year, they finished 20 wins and 13 losses overall, but they've only made the NCAA tournament twice since 1990, both under Tinkle.
