Johnny Sullivan, Sinclair's Restaurant Owner, Passes Away

Johnny Sullivan, the longtime owner of Sinclair's Restaurant in Montgomery, passed away on Monday at age 74. The spot started back in 1992, when Bill and DJ Flippo turned an old Sinclair gas station in the Cloverdale neighborhood into a eatery. They later opened Sinclair's East on Vaughan Road in 1996. Sullivan brought more than 50 years of experience in restaurants and hospitality to the place. He built it into a welcoming home, away from home, for locals who loved his outgoing personality. Friends, musicians, staff, and customers flooded the restaurant's social media with tributes. Many called him one of the kindest people they knew, praising how he touched lives through events, music gigs, and daily hospitality. Sinclair's East shared their heartbreak, but said the doors will stay open. They thanks the porters and ask for prayers for Johnny's two daughters, grandsons, and the whole family.
