From my money, Marcus, this has been a good solid first two periods of play. What have you seen from the wild bench and your side of the ice? I know we're doing a lot of good things out there. We're working hard. I think we're taking care of the puck and going the right direction, for the most part, that we haven't done previously playing this guy. Make it a little bit easier on ourselves. It's looking good, but we've got to keep going for 20 more.

1:02You've got the 2-0 advantage, including Matt Boldy's 36th of the year in that second period. Set up by Marcus, Jo Hansen. Take me behind the curtain. You're going on a 2-1-1. You've got the puck on your stick. But you've got a goal score on the other end of the ice. When do you decide I'm going to pass versus shoot it? You know how to shoot it. There's an opening to give it to that guy. I think that's what you should do. He's been pretty good. He found the landing it open. I just tried to get it to him. Last time we saw you, you missed a couple of games over the weekend. The team has changed. I wouldn't say dramatically, but it's changed significantly. What do you think of the moves that Bill Guren did at the trade deadline to try to bolster the depth of this lineup? Like you said, the depth of this lineup is unbelievable. We've got four lines that can go, and it's fun to play. I think it's not easy for anyone to come in here and play. And having 60 and four lines and some more extra guys that can do the same thing. It's a pretty good strength. Not easy to watch from the sidelines either.

Great to have you back on the air. First of all, a fun game to call. Well, I'm glad I'm back. Believe me, it's fun to watch, it's fun to watch. It's a very interesting time to watch TV, and watching TV is okay, but listen to the game and radio so much better. No doubt about it. Tom read his upstairs. So let's get to some of these questions.

4:05Let's start with this one from the 218 area code. Tom, great to hear you back on the air. The wild, they're playing the Utah mammoth, about as well as they have in the time since they've moved to Salt Lake. What are they doing differently tonight? What is working for them? You know, I think there's the, the people that feel brought in here at the end, certainly have helped Minnesota. I'm looking right now, Kevin. They've had seven different players in the wild, taking draws. Every one of the players in Minnesota are at least 50% or higher. Now, one is on the negative side, so that's a real plus for me. But I just think Minnesota is playing with confidence, removing the puck. They know they've lost two big games against this team already this year. They just have to find a way to beat it, man. And you do that by just scoring goals, playing with that confidence. I talked about it all the time, which is so important. And right now they have that going in the third period. Now they have to hold on to it. From Nate in the 320 area code, Tom, if you had the technology they have today with the sticks they use, how many sticks do you think you would have went through

5:05in a game and or a season? If you were using these composites as opposed to those tree trunks you used to hit with. I remember I broke four sticks in one week and two of them when I backed over with my car, leaving the driveway. You know, the sticks, and it was interesting that I have a stick in my office down the pub. And it's got away three pounds. I mean, these sticks are heavy, and it's a goal six. So it's a little bit bigger, of course, I've got the blocks in part over the goal six as well on that paddle, but they are so much different. And I like the new sticks for shooting, but the problem is you don't know when they're going to break it, because if you slash them, there's a dent there. You don't know when that dent is going to give it. And usually it's when a player is getting ready for that big shot and off the snap. Boy, so disheartening for that player, especially for a defenseman. You take that big shot. You think it's going on that. And next thing, you know, you're sitting there with a broken stick. The other guy is going the other direction because he's got a break away. You're not sending your chasing. What you're doing with some exploits probably flying the length of the ice from the six five one area code, Tom.

6:05You've experienced a trade in your career. Take us behind the scenes there. What does it like to go through a trade and how fast does it take you to acclimate to a new squad? It was early back in the 67 when that happened for me. I was in the Black Hawk farm. The farm came down in Dallas at that time. And I had been up to the majors. They sent me down for a few games and I was there. And also they came in after the game. I was playing with the Dallas Black Hawk to the time. And the general manager of the team moments is Tom just here. Here's a plane ticket. Yeah. We just traded you to Minnesota. And I'm going. What? I just got settled in my apartment. I was fortunate. I was single the time. So it wasn't a big deal. But it's kind of shocking because you're with the team. It's going to be a contract. And I think this is going to be great. And all of a sudden, now you're you're on the plane, you're off off to another price. And I've seen players have been traded two or three times in the course of the season. And it's really hard on the player, especially if you're an order player. You've got family and kids, you have to worry about all that stuff as well. But it's not.

7:06It's always fun. But because I was single, I thought, you know, maybe that's going to give me a better chance to get more ice time. Because Chicago had a pretty good team. They had a lot of, you know, NHL Hall of Famers on the team, including a lot of the defensemen. But it gave me a chance to come to Minnesota. I've been here ever since. Yeah. I wonder what you you wonder about the butterfly effect. I wonder what life would have been like for time read had you not ended up in Minnesota so many long years ago. If you would have been in Chicago, you're into your playing career. Yeah. You just don't know. I mean, where would you have been if you're not in the broadcast with them? Well, you'd be doing. I was selling newspapers on the corner. I have some good examples of things that I could be doing. I think I got pretty lucky. I'll just put it that way. Yeah. You know what? You're right, Kevin. I mean, there's so many players who want to play in the NHL and very few ever get that opportunity. I've been very fortunate over the years to play a lot of games in the NHL and be a part of it for a long time. All right. I could probably squeeze one more in. I did real quick one from the 623 area code Marcus and Nick Fulino. What do you think about the possibility once 17 is healthy, put him, Nick and McCarran

8:11on that fourth line. Boy, that would be some beef. It would be some beef. You know what? You got to be careful. You're working with it sometime. But you know what? I just like the the the makeup of this hot goat right now and you know, you know, we talked about McCarran also and I was I liked what him when I first saw he's come here. He has 186% of his draws tonight. He's one six out of seven. Yeah, that's great. And he's a big body, too. And those big bags of things are they can't move, but they certainly can't. We've seen a lot of big bodies for all start players that can make some headway when it comes to face off. He wasn't happy with his work on the dot in Vegas.
