On March 9th, here's the latest surrounding the NFL. The New York Jets are trading for five-time pro-bull safety, Minka Fitzpatrick from the Miami Dolphins. They will sign him to a three-year, $40 million contract extension. In exchange, the Jets send a seventh-round pick from this year's draft to Miami. The trade cannot become official until the start of the NFL's new league year on Wednesday. It feels a huge gap for New York after they became the first team in league history to finish a season without a single interception. Jets coach Aaron Glinn is building up the defense in the second year. They already made a big move last month by getting nose-tackled to Vandre's sweat from Tennessee in exchange for Ed rusher-Dermain Johnson. Safety was a top priority with key players hitting free agency. The 29-year-old Fitzpatrick brings 21 career interceptions to the secondary. He had just one pick in 14 games last season with the dolphins who had won your left on his deal worth $15.6 million.

Non-guaranteed. Meanwhile, Miami announced their release in quarterback Tuha Tagavaloa after five and a half seasons as their main starter. Quick thanks to the day sponsor.
