Jets Tag Breece Hall, Protect Offensive Heart

This makes him the third player tag this offseason following Dallas-Y receiver George Pickens and Atlanta tight-end Kyle Pitts. Teams have until Tuesday to decide on other potential free agents. Teams tagging players like Hall protect them from leaving in free agency, which starts March 11th. If another team size the player to an offer sheet, the original team has five days to match it, or get two first round draft picks in return. Jets coach Aaron Glenn says they see Hall as the heart of their offense. With injuries to other backs and a new coordinator in Frank Reich, they want him around while hunting for a quarterback. Hall ran for a career high, 1065 yards last season, the first Jets atop 1000 since 2015. This year's three tags already beat last season's total of two, the fewest since 1994.
