0:00On April 27th, Jets General Manager Darren Moogie just wrapped up the NFL draft and says his top priority now is locking in a long-term deal for Star. Running back Breeze Hall. After drafting edge rushers, a tight end, and a wide receiver, including trading back into the first round, Moogie wants the shift focus quick to. Hall's contract before the July 15th deadline. The team already slapped a non-exclusive franchise tag on Hall back on March 3rd, worth about $14.3 million for the 20, 26 season. That lets Hall talk to other teams, but the Jets can match any offer or get compensated if they pass. Hall broke out last year, with 165 rushing yards, his first time topping 1,000 in the pros, plus 36 catches for, 350 yards and 5 total touchdowns. He's the first Jets back to hit that Marksons Chris Ivory back in 2015, making him a total workhorse from Scrimmage with 1,000 for. 115 yards. Moogie admitted they tried for a deal before the tag, but couldn't get it done,
1:04so they used it to buy time. Since then, both sides gave space during draft prep, and he hasn't chatted much with Hall's reps. Now with the draft us settling, expect internal talks and agent meetings soon to see if they can bridge the gap, or if Hall runs it out under the tag heading into next season.
