Jets Eye Titans' Levis as QB Backup

0:00On March 20, the New York Jets have brought back veteran quarterback Gino Smith to start in 2026. Now, they're eyeing a back-up option this offseason, and one name floating around is Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis. Levis came into the league as the 33rd overall pick in the 2023 draft. He showed some promise in limited action that year, but struggled big time the next season under a new coach. Meanwhile, the Titans grabbed Cam Ward first overall in 2025, making Levis the clear back-up. He missed all of last year on injured reserve after shoulder surgery, and now he's in a contract year with a new regime in Tennessee. The folks who drafted and coached Levis there all got fired, and another young quarterback from that era, Malik Willis, found success elsewhere with, big money deals. Levis still has the raw tools that made Scouts excited. Jets General Manager Darren Moogie has solid ties to the Titans after recent trades, so a deal could make sense as they build depth.
