If you were planning to book plane tickets for spring travel, but you didn't get to it before the US attacked Iran and oil prices spiked and then prices at the pump spiked. Air fares probably didn't spike. What's happening in Iran right now and the Middle East has the potential to drive up airfare later in the year. CNBC Aviation reporter Leslie Josephs. A big spike in oil prices you're not gonna see an increase in airfare most likely in the coming weeks. You know, we're getting into the Easter holiday, Passover holiday, school breaks, and a lot of those seats are already sold. People have made their vacation plans, but if you still have to book your flights and you do that closer to when you wanna go, you will pay more. That happens anyway, even without a big pop in jet fuel prices. It's mostly reliant on demand. So if you're booking a seat that's in the next two weeks, it's likely going to be expensive or more expensive than it would have been six weeks ago.
