It got approved by their parliament back in March 2025, but now the UK government is holding it up over safeguarding worries, unless changes get made. Jersey just passed their own version earlier this year, with 32 votes in favor and 16 against back in February. Like the Isle of Man, it still needs Royal Ascent from the UK to become law, and first assisted deaths could roll out as soon as summer 20th. 27. Alanson points out Jersey's in a stronger spot. Their bill had full government backing and way more public support, unlike his private members push. On the Isle of Man, he's urging Jersey leaders to team up tight with the UK's Ministry of Justice right from the jump, checking in regularly to dodge the same roadblocks.
