0:00It's March 6th, here's your NFL news in two minutes. Subscribe to stay locked in all season. Earlier this week, it looked like Washington Commanders kicker Jake Moody might hit free agency after the team skipped a restricted free agent tender. But that changed fast. Moody has agreed to a one-year deal to stay with Washington for the 2026 season. The news comes from ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler. This keeps Moody in the mix for the commanders, who relied on him late last year. Moody joined Washington toward the end of the 2025 season and played in six games. He nailed 10 out of 11 field goals and 10 out of 11 extra points during that stretch. Before Washington, Moody was a third-round pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 2023. They waved him after he missed two field goals in week one, and he appeared in two games for Chicago. Over 40 career games, Moody boasts a 78% field goal success rate and 97.3% on extra points. And now locked in, he's set to compete for the kicking job next year.
