I just wanted to chat about free agency as we get ready to kick off the legal tampering period on Monday. It's a big day. No doubt about it. It isn't going to be a big day for the Jaguars and around the league. There's a lot of news kind of moving around. We're just going to take a look at a few different things, a few different storylines here for the Jaguars as we get ready to get free agency kicked off. Really, teams can agree with players and their representation on new deals. They just can't become official until Wednesday, March 11th started the new league years. Same thing with trades. There's a lot that's going to be happening, again, both for the Jaguars and around the league, whether it be like they're big free agents heading elsewhere, resigning with the team,

2:05and they're going to be aggressive as ever always. With James Gladstone at the helm, they're going to be an aggressive organization, and they're going to do everything they can to improve the football team where they see fit. Now, the Jaguars, they are just barely in the green when it comes to cap space, but they have a number of roster mechanizations, basically contract restructures that they can execute very simply and easily to clear up a lot more cap space. So if they want to get aggressive with trading for a big player or signing a big player, they have the ability to do that. There's no question. So the Jaguars, they did round out. I believe they rounded out their defensive staff, defense of assistant Grant Morgan was hired by the team, and so they had recently lost defense of assistant, but now their staff is rounded out. Basically, three new additions, defense of assistant Grant Morgan, who is a former linebacker, a big time college linebacker, and he's been coaching for a few years now,

3:06and then you also had Matthew Arujo coming over from the Miami Dolphins who had experience with Anthony Campanile. He's the Jaguars defensive pass game coordinator, and you had Brian Pucucci come over from Tampa. Jaguars were interested in him as their offensive line coach last year. They weren't able to bring him over, but they get him this year after Tampa made changes to their offensive staff. So the Jags coaching staff rounded out. It looks like heading into what is going to be a big week for the football team note out about it. Really appreciate y'all tuning in and we'll have coverage throughout the week. There could be news as early tomorrow morning. You never know maybe even this evening, but I did just want to again get with y'all the day before the day before the big day March 9th. So legal tampering. I believe it opens at noon. We can confirm that at noon on March 9th. Is that right? Yeah, 12 Eastern time Monday March 9th.

4:07And then teams can officially sign players and execute trades starting at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11th. So what's going to go down for the Jaguars? Obviously we mentioned the hiring of Grant Morgan. The Jaguars apparently have interest in Jalen Carter according to a Philadelphia Eagles reporter. And I don't know how legitimate that is, but would it surprise me if they're interested in Jalen Carter? No, absolutely not. They were in on the Quinn and Williams deal at the trade deadline last year. They were sniffing around at least kind of figuring out if they had anything that they could do regarding Max Crosby which they just didn't have the 2026 draft ammunition to get into the ballpark of what the Ravens and some of the other teams were offering. But they were interested. So yeah, I would not be surprised if they're looking at potentially making an offer for Jalen Carter who we all know about kind of the character questions that some people have, obviously the big off field incident

5:11prior to his draft which took him from being like a surefire top pick to like the ninth pick for the Eagles. And how he roseman is always really good at taking advantage of situations that the NFL presents him in the best way as a GM and he did that with Jalen Carter again, I think felt a nine and he's just an unbelievable talent as an interior defensive lineman. The Jaguars were able to add someone like that that could dramatically shift their defense. Like that could take them from a middling pat but like if you have Josh Heinz Allen, Jalen Carter and Travon Walker somehow all together that could really change things for the Jaguars defensive front. And of course the Jaguars they're a team that they value who you are as a person as much as who you are as a player so they would have to feel comfortable with Jalen Carter the person which I'm not saying that they are not. I just don't know. But that's something you always have to bring up when you have somebody with like character concerns or question marks at the very least

6:11some different things that have happened on the field off the field. So yeah, Jalen Carter that would be what a home run swing that would be for the Jaguars. We'll monitor that situation closely. The Jaguars are also, so for a move on. One of the reasons a lot of people are talking about Jalen Carter being available is the Eagle sign Jordan Davis to a $26 million per year contract. Are they gonna want to extend Jalen Carter as well? They don't have to do that right now. Like they've got a couple of years of control of Jalen Carter so it's not an imminent situation. They could very much just let things play out. But if they want to capitalize and they don't want to invest all that money into Jalen Carter in the future, they could capitalize on it now and potentially get, you know, I would imagine whoever gets Jalen Carter is giving up at least a first round pick for him. Obviously the Jaguars don't have a 2026 first round pick but they could offer, let's say, 56 overall and a 2027 first round pick. They could offer 2027 and 2028. James Gladstone is very comfortable

7:12with the F them picks mindset. So again, we'll see. The Jaguars, they are apparently according to Jeremy Fowler trying to lock up Monterric Buster Brown before the start of the legal tampering period because he's a good player. And like they love him. Like he's perfect for their scheme. He's kind of the epitome of one of these guys that they have resigned so far where they just fit who they want. They fit how they want them to play. And Buster Brown is just a really good fit for this Jaguars zone defense. He's smart, he's tough, he comes down hill against the run and is very physical and he makes plays on the football. So Buster Brown, the one issue with him is he really doesn't have the best athleticism or speed relative to other star players at the cornerback position. But the Jaguars apparently looking to lock him up. I'm still expecting Devon Lloyd and Travis ETN, Andrew Wingard, Greg Newsom to land elsewhere.

8:14Lloyd and ETN are going to be paid to be big time starters. I think Newsom could be paid to be a starter or someone who's at least competing to start somewhere else. I think Greg Newsom and a more man heavy scheme makes a lot more sense than he did with the Jaguars. And then Dewey Wingard, I wouldn't have guessed that people would be interested in signing him as a starter. But you've heard scuttle but about that around the league. Like teams at least valuing him as like a third safety somebody who can get reps. So it seems like he's going to play elsewhere and you've kind of heard that around the rumor mill. Dennis, we've talked about every player that the Jaguars have for free agency. I think Dennis Gardek and Tim Patrick will be back at some point. The Jaguars value Dennis Gardek skill set in a big way. Yes, they have Jalen McLeod. Yes, they have you, Sierra Abdullah. Dennis Gardek, I think, has just so much more of a proven track record in the league and with this team based on what he did last year.

10:18But he's kind of like a very specific player. Don't know how much competition there would be for the Jaguars to bring him back. And then Tim Patrick, like they did give up draft capital last year to go get Tim Patrick, which doesn't necessarily mean they have to bring him back. But to me, he seems like a player that was always sitting next to Trevor Lawrence in the meeting rooms was a playmaker for them down the stretch. Just seems like a good fit overall. And in the type of guy you want as a veteran presence in your your wide receiver room. Everyone else I could really see departing. You've got Deami Brown. I definitely expect to go somewhere else. I mean, you will log by expect to go somewhere else. Dewan Smoot, I could see it either way. I know they like him. But I could see it either way. I know they're like Austin Johnson too, but they already brought that Matt Dickerson. I think Austin Johnson could be a later in free agency guy, whether that's with the Jaguars or elsewhere, he might just have to kind of wait has turned really all four of those guys. I don't think they're going to be immediate signings

11:18anywhere quite frankly. I think they're going to have to wait it out a little bit. But as for trades other than Jalen Carter, I am still definitely keeping my eye on Jonathan Grenard. If the Jaguars were interested in pursuing Max Crosby, that means they believe there is some way that they can get another edge player, Trayvon Walker and Josh Heinz Allen on the field altogether. Or it means they would be willing to move on from one of those players. It's one of those two things. My guess is that they think they could get another edge rusher plus Trayvon plus Josh Heinz Allen on the field all at the same time, which they've shown they can do. Down the stretch, they were putting Trayvon Walker and Josh Heinz Allen on the same side of the line, on the same side of the defensive line, often putting them next to each other and letting them play some games and kind of wreak havoc. And I think that that's something they should continue to do. So getting Jonathan Grenard, you have just like an insane rotation of three really, really good edge players. And then again, Trayvon Walker,

12:19who can kick inside and just do a lot for you. But I'm keeping an eye on him. Apparently, it's reported that he wants a new deal. So that's something to keep in mind. It could complicate things long-term. Like he's going to be 29 years old to the Jaguar who want to commit to him for multiple years. I don't know. But if they were interested in committing to him for multiple years, they could write a new contract, which would help the 2026 cap for Jonathan Grenard. He's got a pretty big cap hit. If they wrote a new contract with the signing bonus and voidiers and stuff, they could really kind of get some cap relief if they were interested in going down that road. And then big free agent that I'm keeping my eye on is Bradley Chubb. And he's not going to be a compensatory free agent because he was released by his team. So he's somebody who the Jaguars could sign and not have to worry about whatever contract they sign him to is going to impact their compensatory pick formula. Any player who was an unrestricted free agent

13:20that was not released by their team, if they sign in the top 35% of contracts at their position, they can potentially impact your compensatory pick formula. So that's one thing the Jaguars are going to be monitoring, going to be weary of. Bradley Chubb has ties to this coaching staff. He is a really good player. Again, plays edge, but I think he could move around a little bit on that defensive front and makes sense. And so I do think anybody the Jaguars sign they're either going to have to be not impacting the comp pick formula because they were released or they're going to be outside of that 35% threshold in all likelihood because the Jaguars don't want to mess up what they could have with potential comp picks coming back from Devon Lloyd, which could be a third or a fourth round comp pick, Travis ETN, which probably would be a seventh round comp pick. I think if Greg Newsom was going to get you into it would be seventh. Again, they're trying to bring back Monterey Buster Brown, which I think they should. I think his best value is in Jacksonville

14:23and I think Jacksonville is the best spot for him. So I would love to see him back. Him and Travis Hunter rocking on the outside, Jerry and Jones and Jordan Lewis. Jerry and Jones can kind of be your third corner and a top nickel, Jordan Lewis be your top nickel. So Jordan Lewis coming back from the injury, foot injury though. So we'll see when he's healthy again, not exactly sure what the timeline is going to be there. But those are some things I'm keeping an eye on. Obviously, any interior defensive lineman that can heat up the quarterback, I think the Jaguars are going to potentially be interested in. And so any of those names are people to watch. John Franklin Myers is he going to get priced out? Is he going to cost too much? I don't know. That's somebody I've always been high on for the Jaguars, but I just don't know if they're going to be able to get in on that. But yeah, just wanted to again, chat with you all prior to prior to the start of the legal tampering period. I'm really excited for tomorrow. Let me know who you're looking for the Jaguars to add, subtract, trade for, cut, whatever it may be.

15:25When it comes to cuts, there's not a lot of names that make sense as pre-June one cuts, which those are the only ones that could actually really help the Jaguars sign players right now. But there's some different things you can do where post-June one cuts can help sign your draft class and things of that nature. So you can do that, but Tuma Adoga is a player that the Jaguars could save almost 3 million by moving on from. Same thing with Johnny Month. Are those two players worth that price tag to be what they are on your team? Which to me, I would like Johnny Month to be a third, fourth tight end, really? Is that worth that compensation? I don't know, you still have 100 long. Obviously, Britain is strange and Quentin Morris is back and I'd like the Jaguars to add and pre-June or the draft to the tight end room. So that's one I could see. And then Tuma Adoga as well. I just think he's your worst offensive lineman currently on your roster. Could you upgrade that and save money, upgrade it in the draft and save money?
