South African billionaire businessman Patrice Motsepé has denied rumors that he is running as a candidate for the ANC President position at the party's 2027 National Elective Conference. There have been suggestions from ANC circles that Motsepé could throw his head in the ring as a candidate to replace his brother-in-law, Cyril Ramaposa. Motsepé yesterday addressed shareholders of his company African Rainbow Minerals, dismissing the rumours, saying that he had no idea where it came from. The minute you run for votes, you lose sight of the broad object of the broader benefit for all sort of African. So let me go back to my shareholders. Good Matthew Cook says the city must go beyond policing by improving public spaces, supporting youth programs and partnering with local organisations to break the cycle of violence. Johannesburg Roads Agency has advised motorists of a scheduled temporary closure affecting both off-ramps at the M1 Smith Street interchange from today until Monday. This is due to road testing and investigations. The roads will be closed between 9am and 3pm in the afternoon. Several ramps will however be fully reopened during peak hours to east traffic. Motorists have been urged to use alternative routes around the Bromfundine area. If you are travelling during the closure times, here are two options. Option 1. Take the Empire Road off-ramp and follow Empire Road, which becomes Barry Herzog Avenue.
