Islanders Triumph Over Maple Leafs

Braden Shen notched his first goal with the team, putting them ahead early on the power play. Shen joined the Islanders just five games ago after a trade from the St. Louis Blues on March 6th. Matthew Barzell dished out three assists to lead the offense while Kalan Ritchie added a goal and an assist in his first national hockey league game. Back in Toronto, Ilya Saracan stood tall in net with 26 saves to secure the victory. The Islanders dominated special teams, going two for six on the power play and a perfect three for three on the penalty kill. Over on the Maple Leaf side, Steven Lawrence tallied their lone goal and Joseph Wool turned aside 31 shots.
