1:00Welcome into the golf preview podcast on pre-games network. I'm your host, Will Doctor. Nice to have you with us as I bring you the sharpest picks for the latest PGA tour than a lot of energy. A lot of focus. Let's get a roll. And ready roll for the Irish Open. We'll get right into the card here in a second. The teeth of Trump International Dunebag, which is the host course this week. The teeth of this golf course is 100% dependent on the weather there off the Atlantic. I do love the turtleback ebbs and flows. I love the hills and valleys of this golf course.

2:03But if there's no wind, this course will be a walk in the park for the top level player. If there is wind, if there is conditions, which is bound to come over one of the four competitive rounds, I still think this course is straightforward from a ball-stracting perspective. But with the exaggerated sloping on the greens, the putting becomes the trickiest part of the game if the wind gets up. Trump International this week, I want bombers at the golf ball. I don't care about driving accuracy this week with the big landing areas. I want ball strikers whose trajectory isn't impacted by the high winds. And I would really prefer to not take a player with any blemishes on the resume as far as the putting. I say that and I'll take a guy who is due to get hot on the greens instead of already hot on the greens. I would prefer this week to just take the player with the hot hand on the greens and also solid, fescue putting numbers.

3:03Let's go over a couple players before the card. Starting with Rory McRoy opens at plus 650 at Skybett and Hard Rock. How can you not love Rory this week returning home after back to back top five finishes to end the PGA tour season? When you watch the flyovers of this golf course, it looks like a place that Rory could just absolutely pick apart. Nothing to worry about off to tee straight forward approach shots and really a forecast right now that doesn't look terrible. Rory could win by six this week. Two time winner of the Irish 2016 and last year, both times, one at the K club. Hope for him to get win number three as far as the Irish open is concerned. I don't mind Rory at plus 650. Shane Lowry's 32 to one on CalShi. You know, Shane didn't do much of anything in the back half of the PGA tour season, which for him ended after the FedEx St. Jude championship didn't get past the first round of playoffs.

4:09No top 10 finishes on the season for Lowry after the collapse of PGA national, which looking back when we recap the season, that was by far the biggest collapse of the 2026 season. Shane's best finishes the rest of the year after Florida. That was a couple top 25s in memorial and the travelers. This is just one of those courses where I'm having a tough time locating exactly where Shane Lowry would struggle. It seems like a very straightforward links course one that he should thrive on being one of the best ball strikers on the planet. I don't see a lot of places on this back nine for him to choke and he does have a phenomenal record here at his nation's title. One this is an amateur. I like Shane a lot this week. You any out Chicara is 33 to one on Fandall MGM.

5:09The coverage did not capture this, but there were reports that after the fourth round in Switzerland last Sunday, you any out Chicara got in the face or vice versa of Adolfo Luna who is the county for on hella or. And I believe I or just added him to the team with one Ochoa stepping aside to coaching only duties. And I guess Adolfo was pissed about some unresolved payments from Liv Circus Bangkok from a couple years ago where Chicara won and cash to four million dollar check. So yeah, there was no video that I found I did see a video where it looked like there was a group of 15 people trying to hold back Adolfo and Chicara while they were screaming at each other.

6:11Looked like I or was in the middle of it as well telling Chicara to cool it. Security had to come in settle the whole thing. I will tell you, I would not want to be on the train tracks when the when the Chicara Express is coming through. I don't know if you get the sense of it on television, but he's a big dude. I mean, sort of has the sort of has the Duff Belly working now. Super cool golf swing with good pace and good rhythm does not take a ton of time with the golf ball. I need more details here before we make an opinion on who's right and who's wrong as far as the Adolfo Luno situation. I don't have any details there. I don't know if Chicara pulled the couture or what happened, but as far as his game is concerned, he's coming off the top five in Switzerland.

7:14He's just not the link scoffer we're looking for this week. He's had a great season and one that will see him move on to PGA tour in 2027. But you look at his three starts on links golf courses this season. You go back to the end of 2025 when he first entered the DPC and off live. He played the Alfred Dunhill at the back end of last season. He missed the cut there. So not the guy I'm looking for as far as a link scoff course, nothing going on Chicara this week. Alex Fitzpatrick is 30, 34 to one on draft Kings. Alex will likely be the 2026 PGA tour rookie of the year. It'll come down to Alex Christopher, right and Jackson, Kuivin. Alex made a great case started his year on DP. On the Indian open in late March, came over to New Orleans about a month later and won

8:19the surge classic with Matt, which gave him full status on the PGA tour. He's now taken full advantage of that recording four top 10s and signature events, including in his last start at East Lake, where he finished tied fourth. I can tell you this. Alex never had much success at the K club where they hosted this last year and where they seem to host it. I don't know what kind of rotation it's on every other year, every three years. I'm not sure. But Alex, he did top 10 at the Irish Open the year that Royal County down hosted it, which is a much more narrow links test. It's a links test, but it's a lot more challenging than what you're seeing this week. But the way he's played this year, I think Alex is in for no problem top 10 finish. Rasmus Huygards, 35 to one on Bavada.

9:21And yeah, that 2024 edition of the Irish that we were talking about, that was held at Royal County down Rasmus won that. So he's he's a threat in this country off a tied 11th place finish at the Jero Masters where he stayed hot on the Greens. The Iron Play has really been the only thing that has kept him from winning over his last four events between his top five of the Brock and his runner up finished the Danish. All of those tournaments plus Switzerland last week, he would have won. Had he struck his hands up to expectation. And he won the Irish in 2024. His Iron Play was the most steady aspect of his game. I do want the hot putter this week. He is one of them. I don't mind the placement on Rasmus, but I won't have anything on him pre tournament. On how I always 45 to one at Caesar's color me totally shocked to see this number after

10:27he was he was 40 to one last week and had a good opportunity. Is anyone on Sunday until he made a mess the par 514th went on to finish tied fourth, which marked the end of a five tournament skid where the driving accuracy and the putting were atrocious for the Spaniard. That course last week, good fit for for Iora. He had top 20 to Cran Montan last year. And this is, you know, when talking about the Irish this week, this is another one we're last year and I understand his different golf course, but he recorded the top five at the K club last year. Still in search of his first victory, I like this number. I think Vegas is starting to really disrespect him week to week. I like a or a at 45 to one at Caesar's this week. Let's finalize this card. Pick the place number one is going to be Alex Fitzpatrick to top 10 at plus 275 on 3 6 5. Pick the place number two will be hot song Lee to finish top Asian at plus 3 25 on ad

11:30hard rock. I'll have five outright for you this week. Out right number one is going to be Roy McRoy to win it plus 650 at Skybet. Out right number two is going to be Shane Lowry to win at 32 to one at Cal Shy. Out right number three is going to be on hell I aura to win at 45 to one at Caesars. He two extra outright to 100 plus to one winners. Out right number four is going to be. Walk him logger again to win at 110 to one on draft Kings. I love the way he's playing off back to back top 15 finishes. He has special distance off the T's a launcher to golf ball type of driver I'm looking for this week. Plus he's an elite putter. And he has the history I'm looking for with a couple top five in Ireland over the years. Out right number four will be walk him logger again to win at 110 to one on draft Kings. And then outright number five is going to be on hell had dog go to win at 165 to one

12:35at hard rock. He doesn't exactly have all the links golf success for looking for this week. But he's another one who's looked ultra sharp over his last two tournaments. 21st in the bad weather at the British masters and then tied fourth last week in Switzerland. And this is a spaniard who top five in Ireland last year at the K club. I had to take a chance on him. He's a fun player very exciting to watch when he puts himself in the mix. Out right number five is going to be on hell had dog go to win at 165 to one at hard rock.
