On April 19th, Iran's top negotiator says, talks with the U.S. are making headway, but big gaps linger on nuclear limits and control of the straight-up. Hormous President Trump called the conversations very good, even as he slammed Iran's latest moves there as straight-up blackmail. This comes during a war now in its eighth week, sparked back on February 28th. The conflict has already killed thousands, spilled into Israeli strikes in Lebanon, where one soldier died, and nine got wounded yesterday, and jacked. Up oil prices worldwide. That straight used to handle one-fifth of global oil shipments, but it's basically shut down now, hitting economies hard. Trump's crew proposed a 20-year freeze on Iran's nuclear program during secret weekend meets in Islamabad, while Iran countered with just three to five years. Tehran flipped Friday, reopening the straight under a 10-day ceasefire, only to slam its shut again, Saturday, citing U.S. poor blockades.
Ships are taking fire, too. Two-two Indian vessels got hit, prompting New Delhi to summon Iran's ambassador. Iran's leaders vow their navy will hit back hard, and Trump warned of more bombs if no long-term deal lands before Wednesday's ceasefire deadline. With gas prices soaring, inflation biting in midterms looming, pressures mounting on Trump to wrap this up fast, but no next talks are locked in. But leaving everyone on edge for what's next, I'm Corey with the story. That's your entertainment and celebrity news today update, AI powered and always trending.
