Never heard of a ruling like it. I didn't know that was a rule. I'll be honest, but overall still massively positive given how well we played in that first half. We could have been easily two or three up. It was a really unfortunate slip from Nunez on the stroke of half time that saw United draw level. And yeah, the way we were able to just pass through, we'll discuss the liberal tonight. But space in behind and the way we were able to get, you know, in C. So through the middle against United, Maida down the left who we've got a shot eventually. So yeah, lots to be positive about still, I think. But that decision stand alone was, yeah, a joke. I know you debated big clubs with Ben last week in my absence. You got yourself into a little bit of trouble. Where do Liverpool and Man United rank?

3:03You'll talk about the league table, I'm sure. But in statuized and history wise, where do you place them? I gave it to United last week and I've got to keep the same thing. Man United for me, I think, the biggest club, certainly in England, they're probably in the top three in the world with Barcelona and Real Madrid and stuff. Liverpool second for me in England in terms of history and what they've won and fanbase, I just think Man United have that as that might be because I grew up in the 90s, you know, when it was very much Ferguson and the Beckham, the Skulls, the King, the Giggs team that kind of won the treble and then evolved into the Rune and Ronaldo team, etc. Maybe it's a bit of a bit of a bit of a recent, if you can have a recent, you buy us from 30 years ago or so. But yeah, Liverpool still obviously a behemoth of a club, both worldwide and in England, with an incredibly impressive trophy cabinet to be. And the kind of team, the kind of fixture, particularly Portman Rade, I mean, we will deal with Amfield. We've got great record at Amfield and we don't have a great record at Portman Rade either, but these are the games that you look forward to as a FAT as a promoter team isn't it? And exciting that it's Sunday the lights as well. I think that adds a nice extra dimension, doesn't it? Yeah, 100%. Like I said last week to Ben, there are certain sides that you do look for very quickly

4:07when the fixtures come out. It was obviously very early the opening day of the season two years ago and third game of the season, this time around. And the fact it's under the lights of Portman Rade, it's a bit of a pain logistically, but you cannot beat those night games at Portman Rade, they are excellent. He's been playing for Burnley, so had Emerson kind of been missing tomorrow. We'll discuss us later on, but had Emerson been missing out. We would have thrown him straight into it, and he would have been good to go. And suddenly the Ford line just looks a lot better, doesn't it? You've got Emerson who started the season well against Sunderland, got his goal, it'll be great for his confidence, great physical presence. Did really well against Sunderland.

7:10That's only got Zine Fleming coming in, who's got a couple of goals already in the championship. Was it 11 goals last season for a really poor burn? No assists. Sorry. And no assists. Do you see that? Yeah, crazy, that isn't it, crazy. But yeah, he's physically can put himself about, he will cause problems, and then obviously suddenly, Tuba Rackpun becomes the third choice striker. So yeah, you've got decent options there in those four positions, and I fully expect Fleming to be on the bench tomorrow and come on at some point in the second half. And the window overall, you know, if we just sat here, every time, what's the game we always pick out, whatever, five years ago, this week would have been, I can't think, maybe Cheltenham away or something, was it a two-one defeat? If you just sat there and said that you're going to be signing, you know, World Cup winners in central midfield, you're going to spend to close to 200 million pounds, improving a squad that has already been improved a couple of times in the past with, with Premier League seasons behind it. It was, it's just unbelievable, isn't it? The window has been absolutely brilliant. Midfield, I think, looks incredibly strong. If I was winging, I'd ask for another centre-back, but given what we've done and given what we've got, I'm really confident now, this squad is

9:15pre-season preparations behind closed doors and training camp in Spain. Everything stepped up. A lot of business, including this week, a couple of signings, Rosela A.N. from Leicester, Moroccan International Striker, Georgia Fox from Chelsea, fallback, some departures as well. Ava Baker departed today. I was really excited about that signing, but she was recalled by Birmingham City. The club announced there was for personal reasons. And within a few hours, she's turned up at Shepherd United, who are also WSL2. So a bit of question marks about what's happened there, but it's disappointing. But the squad's got good depth, grace, devil. It's also departed on loan to Watford and other WSL2 teams. So the squad's in really good shape, finished the season really strongly on the David Rydan, they secured survival, be Birmingham or the way, but come against Nottingham Forest, who doubled the tractor girls last season. So we're looking for a bit of revenge on them. And yeah, there's cause for optimism for a really positive season for the girls. So we wish them all the very best. And a team that was used to success and had really

11:23good early success under on a slot. And then it all kind of derailed a little bit, didn't it? And Irrila comes in from Bourmouth. And it feels like he's trying to instill more, maybe a more familiar pattern and start of play that was the gage and press under, under a year and a club. But it's not going to happen overnight. Some ins, some outs. I'm going to have to ask it, is this maybe a good time to play him? You had to say it in the years. I think if we look at their couple of early kind of performances in the first two games of the season, then potentially yes, it could be. We know Irrila is a slow starter. I think that's fair to say given what happened at Bourmouth. And as you say, yeah, it's a flip reversal of the football. They've kind of had that, it was called rock and roll football, heavy metal football, whatever you want to call it, under your can clop where it was just attack attack ball going forward quickly to the attacking positions and win games for three, three, two, etc. Incredible excitement and incredible success. League title under clop, Champions League two Champions League finals as well. I think maybe it

12:28was three actually FA cups and and and and league cups as well. And then on a slot came in and it seemed to be, we sat here two years ago and we kind of thought you don't want to be the person to follow Ars and Venger to follow Alex Ferguson to follow Jürgen Klopp. We kind of expected them to drop off and it was an incredibly bought a calming presence and didn't really alter that much in the first season. Kind of made it from a four two three one from a four three three, but instilled an idea of calmness and they won the league at an absolute canter. You know, it's worth pointing out how good they were that season and what the gap, I think it was, was it 10 point gap I think in the end to second place and that included a drop off at the end of the season. So yeah, incredibly impressive first performance, but last year the murmuring started, the fans weren't happy with the style of play. Salon, I think it's the fun with the style of play. That was yeah, that's the kind of thing when the players are kind of talking about the media and the public though, so rare that you hear that these days because everyone's so media trained on they and it's all about being inside the tent rather than and peeing out of it rather than

13:28into it. And it was, you know, for such an influential player who obviously has now moved on to be to be having that kind of dialogue in in very public circumstances is not great, is it? And not just the fact that it was him that it was referring to most Salah put an Instagram post up right towards into the season saying that Liverpool had to get back to the heavy metal football. That's after he's announced he's departing. So I guess with that one, you can kind of accept it, but the fact that pretty much half of the squad current players liked the tweet and were reacting to it kind of told you what the relationship must have been like between slots and between the the key players in the dressing room. So he is gone. It's a new era for them. They'll be hoping for a kind of a pushback to the last couple of the last few years under club with that rock and roll high intensity high tempo, high pressing, exciting, attacking football. You mentioned the transition season. I think that's fair. I think we might be looking at a transition off the pitch as well, you know, heavy investment in the summer, a consortium backed by Jeff Bezos support into 40% of the club. I don't think people of the caliber of Jeff Bezos by 40% and then expect nothing in return. So I'd assume this might will be setting up for an FSG departure in the next few years and

14:30yeah, they'll have to see what they can do this season. I guess similar to what we have been discussed last week with Man United, they'll be looking at Champions League qualification for sure. Go deep in the Champions League itself with knockout phases and target a cup competition. I don't think many Liverpool fans would sit here and say they're probably going to win the league or really push Arsenal for the title, but they'll be hoping to have success in other measures. I guess I really are looking to kind of use this to instill his methods, get them going with a look to really mounting probably a serious Premier League challenge if you can get the right players with the building in the next year or so. In the building areas, folks. And some chunky money spent, which chunky monkey, chunky money spent, which we'll discuss in more detail later on. However, Deb, we didn't talk about the here in the now and going into the game, where do Liverpool play themselves in the league table? Well, so they come to Portmanard as underdogs if you look at the league table being below. Well, I imagine both on both poor, yeah, well, on both points and in league position, they're currently 13th, two points, one point behind town, played two games, drawn in both couple of Desmines, two to on the opening weekend of the season,

15:33the Monday night game away as in James's park away to Newcastle, and then the Saturday, early morning kickoff, half to well, whatever it was last weekend against Forest and filled both games, finished two to. And I think both games kind of encapsulated what I think we might see from Liverpool this season, vulnerabilities in attack with the kind of style of play that Erola wants to instill, but equally going forward, you can see that quality, you can see that, you know, a couple of absolutely standout goals that we'll refer to at times. And yeah, I think that might be well, what we will be kind of see preseason kind of went okay-ish, they played six games, three wins, like half the Premier League do, they went to America, they played Sunderland, Rexham, they played Como back over here as well, they were the three victories, one draw, there's a Como double header where they beat them and drew on the same day. And two defeats, and these were interesting, they lost the leads, four to having been two nilup, and they lost a Monaco, three to again, having been two nilup. So they do have this habit of conceding goals, I just mentioned the first two games, they've conceded two goals in both of them, they are kind of perhaps a little bit defensively vulnerable in both preseason and they haven't tightened up going into the season.

16:34Anything we dealt with last season, have any ways or anything you want to bring it to attention there? Just the massive drop off, wasn't it, let's be fair, you know, champions that the season before, they conceded so many goals last year, wanting to stood out to me, they conceded more goals than Palace and Forest respectively, he both finished like 15th and 16th, so conceding goals was a huge issue for them last year, and there was the huge side show, wasn't there of the most salary issue, he was imperious the year before when he helped me absolutely crush you on fantasy football, more of that later. But I'll say there was that he was dropped and then he gave the comments afterwards and it kind of became a complete circus before they announced he was leaving. So a lot of off the field staff that ultimately culminated in in, in, on a slots leaving, and yeah, just a huge drop off year on year. Talk history of the Forest game then, because it felt like yeah, there's enough in there for them, but maybe the Forest were a bit hard done by with this, one what do you say? Yeah, I think so, and I think Newcastle were a bit hard done by in the first game of the season, as well it was two, two last weekend at Anfield, they went one nil down just

17:36like they did to Newcastle the weekend before, and it was seem to be such a straightforward goal, it's a huge, who've down the center of the pitch, I might be doing forest justice here, but it seems to me a huge who've down the center of the pitch and the space in behind for both kind of, I think it's Haysus wins the, wins the original header, it then works his way to Dan and Doi who is in the right back position for Liverpool will discuss their full backs and easy and acres of space to kind of able to open his body up and roll the ball into the corner and then then they, I think they should have been two or three up at half time, I think forest, I don't think Liverpool could have argued that there's a huge save from Haysus from Alison right on the stroke of half-time where he tips a shot onto the bar, that could have been very different, had they gone in two nil up. Isaac, Alexander, Isaac equalises from close range, early in a second half, Cody Gapo gets to the line, pulls it back and to the back post and Isaac stabs home more on him later, and then you kind of think right, well they'll now look to naturally push on, but a bit like the Newcastle game before, they just kind of go behind almost straight away again and this time it's a penalty and it's actually Liam Delap who plays a crucial role and this comes on for his debut for forest,

18:38Windsor, Windsor throwing takes it really quickly as Nika Williams is bombing on, Nika Williams kind of gets to the ball and looks to chip it to the far post, but Alison catches him, there's a penalty, Morgan Gibbs wiked scores it, so they're two, one down and there's a moment of brilliance, there's some assigning Victor Mungos, it's a moment of brilliance, it's kind of a spin and a shot in the 80th minute to draw them level and again they didn't really then push on to win the game and they had by far the majority of the possession, 69% possession, 1.75 XG to 2.3 for forest, remember forest did that penalty which does naturally boost their XG, 13 shots, 4 on target, but only one big chance created and a very similar pattern I thought to the Newcastle game, fall behind, do the hard work to kind of equalize, immediately there's another kind of falling behind and that took a very late penalty was at 100th of a minute I think wasn't it from from, yeah, up at James's Park to draw them level there, so yeah attacking wise they look okay, I guess will discuss Florian Verts and Alexander E. Sack shortly but defensively I think there are real questions that can be asked

Yeah I think he will because I think he will deliver that football the fans want, I know we discussed, you compare to Thomas Frank, remember we say a couple of years ago talking about Frank and when he was at Brentford and about him moving to bigger clubs, I always kind of thought his style of play wouldn't lend itself to those clubs higher up in the table whereas I think if Eriola gets Liverpool performing as he's born beside the

20:42fans will love him and they'll have to be patient because you know like we saw when clop came in and we tried to instill that philosophy, it took a couple of years before he really did not go in. Players for it, yeah, don't you? And like like with us you know McKenna comes in and spends the first half of the season kind of working out who can do it, who can't do it, where do we need to strengthen for the kind of football they want to deliver and I think Eriola will do similar, I think he'll do really well, I really do. I think he's an excellent appointment. What he did at Bournemouth was absolutely incredible, you know we've got the numbers here, he was there for three seasons, finished 12th, 9th and 6th respectively so season on season progression, 48 points to 56 points to 57 points and then you've got to take into account the players that were sold whilst he was in charge there. You've got Dominic Salanki going to Spurs and to Onsemeno last season going to Man City, Ila Zabani went to PSG, Dean Hoysen went to Real Madrid, Kirk Es, obviously we've mentioned already went to Liverpool, Dango Wattara went to Brentford so he's losing these absolutely key players but he is still delivering year on year kind of improvement and yeah I think he is an excellent appointment. He does take time to get going, I've already mentioned it, he was winless

21:43in the first nine games when he took charge at Bournemouth. I remember a lot of people saying why have they got rid of Gary O'Neill to bring in you know someone like this because Gary O'Neill was a safe pair of hands and I think after eight games were ever it was, people were saying this is a disaster and should be changed but they stuck with him, they absolutely reap the benefits and I think Liverpool will too, I think he will get it right because the style of football he will deliver as we know with Liverpool will win them things.
