Iowa State Slips in AP Poll, Faces Arizona Test

They started at number 4 following a big win over Houston, but a 1-in-1 record sent them down a couple spots. On the road, the cyclones handled Utah pretty easily, winning 75-59. Things got tougher at home against Texas Tech, where they fell 73-82 in their first loss in Ames all season. Fans are buzzing about the big 12 strength, with four teams in the top 10. Iowa State sits second among them, behind Houston at number 7, won Nebraska's at 9, Texas Tech at 10, and Kansas rounds out at number 14. Standout play came from Joshua Jefferson and Milan, Mom Solovik, who both scored over 20 points in the Texas Tech loss to keep it close. That effort shows the team's grit even in defeat. Looking ahead, Iowa State faces a real test, with road trip to Arizona on Big Monday. Then Arizona State back home for senior night on March 8th.
