Iowa State Retires Melvin Ejim's Jersey

The former star-four played for the Cyclones from 2010 to 2014, helping transform the program during his four years in Ames. He teamed up with Coach Fred Hoyberg right from the start, contributing to some of the team's best runs in recent history. Hoyberg, whose own No. 32 hangs in the rafters, saw a gym as a key piece in that turnaround. Fans and insiders agree it's a fitting tribute, given E. Jim's Big 12 Player of the Year award in his senior year, along with all conference honors, and all American nods. His rebounding stats stand out, holding program records for both offensive and defensive boards, and he's one of just three players to top one, thousand total rebounds.
