00Crosbyt, Countening. Well, I reckon about seven or eight minutes of attacking footy in that second quarter Thursday night. They pulled on five goals. It was great to watch. Joining us is our gun defender. Joshi, you are all welcome. Hey guys, thanks for having me. Brilliant. Twenty-eight point win over the Blues at home. It was tough conditions. You take that all day every day, wouldn't you? Yeah, for sure. I mean, it was good to get one on the board after a couple of tough weeks. Did the coaches feel you're far from getting your best game back and how far do you think you are from getting it back, Josh? No, I think I think we're not too far off, Rowie. I mean, what the three games have lost have been a combined point. Combined a matter of points is 16. So, like I think a lot, we're in a good place. I mean, it probably doesn't show that on the ladder, but yeah, I think we're not too far off it. Yeah, again, the start, the first quarter. Now, okay, you kick six goals, but the opposition had 16 inside 50, so you kick seven goals for. They smashed to it, contested ball and stoppage.

03The same old story, Josh. So, what was said at quarter time? We did see that Nick, you got a little bit animated, and to your credit, you turned it around. What did you have to turn around? I'll give you what you just said, same old story, Rowie. I mean, I think you're a bit frustrated that we've come out and done it again, but then just going back to our contest and playing our role and doing those simple things and we're able to get it back on our terms. And yeah, I think we showed at the start of that second quarter, how damaging we can be. Do you know the why or the how? Because it is actually every game this year, you've started, I don't know whether the words cautious or slower. Now you can't put speed on the ball the entire game, but God, you know, when you play your best footies, when you do, you play with speed. So, what goes first is that the contest, is it stoppage, is it the midfield? What is it? What have you identified that you've got to get right at those starts? Probably just comes back to being clean. I think sometimes at ground level, we're a bit fumbly and then that brings pressure and then it

08probably makes it look worse than it is. So, I think if we come back to just taking opportunities, being clean at ground level in the air, I think we'll go a long way in those first quarters and you go, I would have that far off it. Could you believe they left crypts on the bench for the first seven minutes of that second quarter? No, I couldn't believe it. I think probably helped off the good. Yeah, I've got to say, and you would know this, Josh, I don't, the coach has actually control that side of it, do they? That's more of a high performance team sort of rotating that. I can say at the high performance team, shove that with the sun, don't you? I think I would. Yeah, I think that's what it is. Is that the way it's run? Josh, is it run by high performance? Same those rotators. Yeah, yeah, it is run by the high performance team. I think I've had a few words with Mack about starting me on the bench unfortunately. Yeah, well, tell him don't do it again. Ask, you've got to do it politely though, you never know, you might get reporting. Now, Josh, you were picked up where you left off last year, if you're in form and you're reading it like a, like a watermelon in cricket.

13Yeah, no, it's been, it's been good. I mean, like I said, we've had really good patches of the midfields and forwards holding up their ends and being able to put a bit of pressure on the footy, but then when it's come to having a lot of pressure coming in to the back line, I think as a back six, we've been able to stand up and yeah, I think we're actually in my game, just having the confidence of last year, you know, I can do it all season. I'm out of build on what I do it last year. Absolutely. Rowie just mentioned the word cautious there and I was talking to Tim Silver's last week about it. I think when sometimes you do get caught up and people are maybe a little apprehensive about making that call to go on that 45 degree angle kick, it seems like gives the opposition a little time to block the corridor. Is that a fair assumption? Yeah, yeah, for sure, for sure. I think yes, sometimes we could not able to use that as corridor at times. Yeah, well, I think the teams are starting to deny them because they know what you're like. You're a formula one straight down that corridor

14when you're allowed to do that. I feel the players at the start of the year are a number of them. We're either underdone or a tad out of form and we know who they are. Celiga had the hard operation, Kezi Isaac Rankin didn't play, but they're all starting to build a bit of good form and it's coming at the right time because you've got some big games coming up, Josh. Yeah, for sure. And, Rowie, you know, as it's a long season, so I mean, obviously you can read into the first five games, but yeah, we need to build on what we've kind of done already. And yeah, those guys coming to their own right now is massive for us. Like you said, we've got the showdown, we've got the breezy, all big games and yeah, kind of need those voice to be up and running. Yeah, one week at a time is what we did last year. Now, how's your calf? Have you been a little bit banged up this first five? Yeah, my calf's good. It's come good finally. So I should be, I should be all sweet. I mean, it was touching guy there for a little bit, but now I pulled through the other side and indarinated the non-day break. Oh my God. I mean,

17you're a kid there. Can you do a calf? That's an old man's injury. Was it an old one? What was it? No, I think I think I am getting older. I was 24. I'm Saturday, really. I thought you want to swap. Hey, Josh, TV turned 60 today. Oh, swap, yeah, Josh. Is that a rock? Cheers, mate. Hey, the big fog monster. How's his back? Is he looming large this week? Yeah, I think so for more report to back on deck today. So hopefully you can put a good week together. Okay. And Dan Curtin's getting close. I think he's signaling an intent to play in the showdown. Uh, yes. I think so. I think he'll, um, I think he might be fine, careful this week. I'm not 100% sure though. Oh, okay. Um, you watched any other footy gather around? I did. I did. I was, I watched, I didn't get any games, but I watched a few on TV. It's a good spectacle at the moment. It's in a good place. I think gather around. Now, now we have Raleigh O'Brien, he's a friend of show, a dear friend of ours and he's got a great bond with Tim. And, um,

20off here, they talk a fair bit about that you've moved in with him and, you know, you're not pulling your weight. It was some issues around, yeah, a couple of house domestic tours. Yes, it was. They did think. Oh, yeah, Verdo. Verdo is going to be nice today. So, if you have a pen out of place, I mean, it's going to blow up on you anyway. So I tell me, we've got the odd couple living together. No, Verdo took me in and was very good cook for me, did everything. So I can't complain. Oh, damn. Yeah, I know you haven't just a little bit mess here than him, but he's, he's a bit older than me. I'll give him that. Yeah, if they're cool. Now, St Kilda sat there night. Did you get a side from them last night against Port? Yeah, yeah, we did. Um, so obviously a good team in some, um, good form. So hopefully we can go out there and bring our best. Okay. Hey, Josh, I, I know Joshua Shelley's probably put his best two games in the last two weeks and there's been outstanding, but a guy that's just getting under

21the radar there and doing some really good work through that, uh, the Santa Clarence hasn't liked his San Barry. I've been really impressed with him. Yeah, damn, it's been amazing. He's one of my good mates and I've been able to see him go to work over the off season, um, on a, on a few things. And yeah, I think it's coming, it's showing now how those, all those benefits coming through now. And yeah, I think it goes really underrated. How good he is in there. Very important to you. And Joshua Shelley, it's not just so much that the fact he's, you know, he's got four goals and he's, it's more so. I probably noticed that a change in team, if that's the right word, it's more of a team first, Joshua Shelley. Yeah, um, you couldn't sum it up any better. I think he's more of a team first player and I said to him, when that happens, I think your best games come off of that and your best foodie and you probably involved more than um, some other players that maybe do a bit more selfish thing. So yeah, I think that the more he

23does that for us is going to be, yeah, an amazing player and he's going to be a star of the competition. Joshua, stay sound and fit, mate. Keep up that great form that the team's building gradually each week to get back to the absolute best and when they do, it's good enough to beat any team on any given day and we love it when you do that. Uh, mate thanks for coming on and thanks for your time. Thanks guys. Rowie, downfos, uh, Platy's machines. I heard they got your little bit of trauma. I remember, I remember as Galบ'тоouys with Josh's lovely partner, he's out there at 88 O'Cott, well Rob came in and told me that last week, he's talking on I did. Well, those that don't know Platties just slide up and down on something. What does it call reform Platties? And if you don't get your timing right, you can fall off and lock a bloody dead seal. And that's what happened, mate. You're in trouble. Oh, go ahead. I did my back. I did my old Ford Josh. I've been in the hands of the car practice for a while. It's funny. It just come good. Mate, you can get down there deadly. Thanks, Joshy. No, there's good form.

29Apparently on the butt of everyone's jokes. Jody said we don't spend enough time together. She said, come and do you know the story reform Platties? I said, well, what have it, mate? I've not been the same sense. It's like our north to 100. You've got to be very easy in those sorts of things. That's true. Yeah, you just went north to 100. Well, there she do. Well, I'm not even praying to be four to six. Four to six is right around. So would you block the size of Adelaide over all the Gulf Square? Remember, you can build with sterling
